Q - How'd you get the samples?

Nordstrom. Of the two in my area 1 carries the entire PB lineup. They got pre-made samples from TF as well so I guess their finally getting their shit together.

Today: a cold, clear morning, with an evening wedding to attend. Chanel Antaeus.

Eau Sauvage today.

Anyone ever heard of Homme de Gres? Basenotes reviewers say it's very similar to Eau Sauvage. All positive reviews.

today, Keihl's Original Musk

Rive Gauche PH Light. Less anise and a bit a mint compared to the original. Smells less "mature" if that makes sense to you guys.

I'm currently in SE Asia so it's got to be Borneo 1865 by Serge Lutens.

That's the only one that I've yet to try. How would you describe it? Trying TF PB White Suede again today. Its nice but straddles the line between masculine and feminine, leaning a bit too far towards feminine. I get a smoky powdery scent out of it.

Saturday morning at the office - Dunhill for Men.

Trying the Rive Gauche Light again today- definitely more wearable than the regular and intense versions.

Saturday evening at dinner and out with friends: Habit Rouge. I keep forgetting how good this is.

Today - a freebie I got in a swap months ago and never worn: Vanilla Mexique Noir. Smells like a lightly floral vanilla gourmand. May pair with an unloved bottle of Lavendula Oakmoss that is missing a little presence.

i didn't like it too much the first couple of times i wore it but i'm warming up to it now.

Strangely enough, I keep getting random compliments from the most unexpected sources when I wear VW's BOUDOIR, which normally I think of as a rather bodily, powdery, foul sort of rosy scent. Apparently, it wears well on me... SO, I wore it again today.

Even without the compliments, it's grown on me a lot and is really quite lovely.

Sunny October Sunday- full fall sunshine turning to rain near sunset. L'Artisian Dzongkha: low-key incense and subtle leather. I'm coming to terms with this and am coming to like it. I miss my Habit Rouge, though.
