rach2jlc & Dmax which would you rate higher between the Black Aoud, Royal Aoud and Attar?

A pensive mood calls for something similar - Reflection Man.

From the Aouds I tried (all the Montale ones) I probably like Auod Lime the best because of the Lime vs. Aoud interplay. They are all interesting in their own way though.

Today the autumn chill has given way to the warm and sticky post-summer swelter. Okay, it's not that bad, but still I revisited New West, a last fling before I re-box it for the upcoming 6 weeks of fall/winter. Of course fall doesn't start for another two months or so, there could be up another 60 last flings before Christmas...

Dorissima Narzis for me today... guess I'm feeling a little full of myself.

(Actually, it's named after the character from the Hesse novel, not the Greek myth, but anyway...)

Lutens Miel de Bois for me today; it's one of the only Lutens that I can wear, except it has a strange drydown that I can never predict. Sometimes, it's dry and powdery, sometimes it's acrid to the point of being almost sour. I hope today it's the former...

Today I reached into the sample pouch and extracted Ormonde Jayne - Isfarkand. I nearly bought a bottle of this, and I thank God I got a sample instead. It's a slightly-sour, discordant fougere which has no chance at all of being a daily wearer. I like it for what it is, an occasional treat to throw the world off-kilter before returning to the comfortable scents like Yatagan and L'autre.

Daytime: Old Lanvin. Unusually long lasting for clothing brand fragrance.

Evening: Fahrenheit CD

Winter: Old Polo green bottle.

I like new Purple Label fragrance as well.

One of my fav. is old Zegna in black bottle, unfortunately it is not very long lasting.

I wore Antheus/Channel in my 20s, still like it after all these years.

Malle vetiver Extraordinaire for me today. I absolutely love this one; nothing even remotely sweet in it and tons of green woodiness. None of the people around me like it, though, they tell me it smells like grass and pizza dough. But, I don't care, because I still love it.

For those who haven't smelled it, take the crisp greenness from guerlain vetiver, take out the sweet element, and multiply times 1000.

Tomorrow will be a continuance of Montale Appreciation Month (MAM) as my bottle of Fougere Marine has arrived. It's definitely not as strong, deep, or off-kilter as some of the other scents, but it's still very nice and exactly the replacement to Erolfa I've been searching for (something marine but not detergent-y). It's something like if Creed took a hand at Tommy.

Today I am wearing Creed Royal Scotish Lavender .

Yesterday stick-a-hand-in-the-sample-box day: Creed Vetiver Original. I am not really into Vetiver. I also have a sample of Malle Vetiver Extrodinaire and while it was a nice fragnance it just wasn't me.

No; Vijay is a good one to deal with, but I actually got this one from another member.
