Yeah, they loved it after one sample. Was cheap as dirt after the coupon so I figured why not. You should have your lady friend try Elie Saab. Now that **** is good.

She loves Elie Saab -- good suggestion. I bought her some Marc Jacobs a while back, but I think she'd appreciate something different this time round.

I'm a fan of Elie Saab - it's a well-made perfume.

Pre-shower: Cruel Intentions. This is among my favorites from the by Kilian line. There's a rich, velvety rose that I like a lot. I really like the Kilian scents that feature rose, I've noticed.

SOTD: Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche. I've read in lots of places that Chanel is either discontinuing this or else just pulling it from major retailers and making it a boutique exclusive. I've noticed that my local Nordstrom no longer has it. Saks had it, but they had removed the price tags from the boxes, oddly enough. This is far and away the class of the Allure series, at least on the men's side.

Chanel COROMANDEL but after I applied it I wasn't sure if it was a women'f fragrance so I washed it off.
Byred Baudelaire, which I really like. I need to buy a bottle...anyone want to buy a S.T. Dupont lighter or Cutter?

Any reviews of Chanel Bleu for men?

I bought some Terre d'Hermès today, and I am one very happy motherfucker.

Thinking of taking the plunge on this one. It's either this or Chanel Bleu.

Actually applied some L'Instant pour Homme before going to bed last night. ;)

Today, Caron - L'Anarchiste.

FWIW, I'd definitely go with TdH over BdC. I think Bleu is quite good for what it is, but what it is is a fresh scent that's similar to a lot of other scents on the market.

Have you given Voyage d'Hermes a try? I think it's really an underappreciated scent in the Hermes lineup. (I'm pretty certain HORNS would agree with that too.)

I don't have any Hermes cologne. I have MontBlanc's Individuel, YSL L'Homme and Bvlgari Aqua.

Why do you wash something off because you were not sure whether it's a women's fragrance? Did you like it or not? That's everything that should matter.

First fragrance-free day in months.

I was not thrilled and then began to question if it was for men.

Chanel Allure?? I thought it was looked down upon.

Did you give the Coromandel much time to dry down? I think there's a chance you'd like it more as it developed beyond the top notes.

I don't like anything from the Allure series on the men's side except for Edition Blanche, which I think is really excellent. The top is a wonderfully creamy lemon. As it develops it becomes woodier, with quite a prominent vetiver note. I'm not normally a fan of vetiver, but it's blended so nicely here that it works for me.

Speaking of vetiver, did you ever get a chance to smell Sycomore? I can't remember if you did or not.

Good advice. Unless you really hate it, and I mean hate hate, give it a full wear.

Ignore the latter part and focus on the former. :)

have you ever worn a womans fragrance? (serious question)

I can answer for b1os, because it's the same answer for pretty nearly all the regulars in this thread. Yes, we all wear fragrances that are marketed to women. Some of us do that more than others. For example, I think it's fair to say that rach and I wear feminines a lot, while people like Thomas and Baron and Rambo wear them much less. I think HORNS and b1os, for example, are more in the middle.

Fragrances aren't like clothes, in the sense that there's a very bright line between what is conventionally regarded as appropriate for women and what is appropriate for men. (Indeed, many older feminines would register as quite butch in today's marketplace, where women's scents tend to be very girly and sweet.) If you go to luckyscent.com, you'll see that they represent the gender of a fragrance on a continuum. I don't always agree with how they place them, but in general I think the idea of a continuum is much better than the idea of a simple binary.
