Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1605
I remember having a small bottle of this ten yearsish ago, but it somehow got lost in my rotation and then Timbuktu took over in my L'aP repurchases.
Found this one and Dzongkha the other day on sale. Enjoying it a lot now on a second go around.
I've been with my "staple" classics so long it's nice to explore something different again.
(shyly posts) SOTD is Lacoste Essential. You know those scents you don't know why but you just like? This is one of those for me. I remember taking the sample and trying it a few times and thinking I don't want to like this becuase it's 'designer' mall brand etc but I gotta say it's fresh and clean and green with a metallic smoothness, sort of like Mugler's Cologne and it's working pretty well. Got a bottle for cheap in a swap so may keep it.
Feels liberating to confess your transgressions, doesn't it? Good to know that at least one more person on SF shares my guilty pleasure :) Granted, Lacoste Essential is not any kind of a grail frag, but sometimes, on warmer days it's just what the doctor ordered...
SOTD: Chanel No. 22.
Pre-shower: Fate Woman by Amouage. This is a wonderful oriental feminine chypre. It's got warm spicy notes along with labdanum to give it the classic oriental feel, but it's also just a little bit animalic and it's got a pronounced oakmoss note. The heart is floral and powdery.

That's a hell of a lineup, L'Inc. I'm sure you have residual Fate on you even after the shower. That stuff is potent.
A bit of Apres l'Ondee EDT on the hand today. Almonds and field flowers. It does have a bit of that play-doh, soapy smell that completely overwhelms Heure Bleue for me, and somewhat dates both. But this is a bit more wearable. I wonder how my opinion will change after a few more months of perfume education since this is one of the most praised Guerlains, but for now this does not engage me as much as Cabochard.
Got a jasmine flower from the bush outside. It's such a rich, buttery, creamy smell. Almost violent. When the bush first flowers, you can smell it from the other side of the street or sometimes even a block away. Other than Fracas, I don't think I own anything like it.
