Hey all. I'm glad to have found this thread. Looking forward to reading some of the preceding pages and to learning more about this. I used to swear by Creed because the ones I liked (GIT, Royal Oud) worked so well with my lifestyle and work environment (academe/cultural institutions). But I recently learned that there's a lot of controversy surrounding some of Creed's core claims to fame. It doesn't diminish my liking of Royal Oud, and I still think they make some excellent, elegant-to-a-fault perfumes, but I'm eager to explore other things.
Recently stopped by the Kilian boutique in NYC. I thought some of them were intriguing. Certainly more complex than the usual Creeds. I wasn't convinced to buy any, but I plan on returning with more time in hand.
I favor warm, smoky, woody scents with perhaps a touch of musk. I rarely go for citrus/floral/fresh scents, even in summer.
Right now I'm making the most of a cheaper bottle--Tom Ford's Noir Extreme.
