Both the Dior and Malle are very inoffensive and subtle and would be a good choice for a long flight. I dont have experience with the Chanel.

Whenever I'm about to hop on a plane and passing through DF, I generally douse with something innocuous like one of the Hermes or Chanel scents. Often a Jardin, or Concentree D'Orange Verte, etc. Occasionally a Guerlain but I find they dry down a little stinky. And if it's available, one of the fresh Fords like Vetiver, Neroli/Costa/Mandarino, etc. I find the process of travel and sitting on the plane (especially with stinky people) a little hot, stuffy, and smelly, so I prefer to go for light fresh clean crisp stuff.

Today is a flying day for me. I am wearing Cafe Rose.

Today is a stay at home day, so Byredo Accord Oud. I still feel like this is rather 'ink-y'. Eh, highly considering selling this one. Just debating if I even like it enough to keep a decant. Not a bad scent but I have others I like more and it's not really my style. I guess I'm just not that edgy after all.

I've used Geranium Pour Monsieur for a couple of years as my travel fragrance. Another one that I discovered that did well on flights is Bruno Fazzolari's Lampblack, which has a lot of citrus but ends up having this kerosene quality to it that does an excellent job at combating the odors of a plane.

At home tonight and rejoicing in Noir de Noir.

I have one that I have missed out on and overlooked for years now - En Voyage Go Ask Alice, which is a heavy-duty patchouli fragrance with a lot of depth from sandalwood, labdanum, and ambergris.

Mandarino di Amalfi. I've posted about this before and it continues to unexcite me.

Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea. I'm realizing that I haven't delved much into the world of amber scents, apart from Amber Sultan (I also think Tauer's lddm is a sort of amber). This one reminds me a bit of the Lutens but it has a big smokey note in there that gives it an incense vibe. It's a very strong scent overall. I like it, but not enough to buy.

Chevalier d'Orsay.Very much like this from it's bright floral opening to its sweet musk dry-down. Very versatile seasonally too; handy for those Melbourne days when we get all seasons in the one day.

(yesterday) Put on some Boise 1920 Sushi Imperial since it's a bottle I'm debating culling from the collection. As usual, it was pleasant but I didn't connect emotionally with it, so it'll probably go.

Went fragrance sniffing while killing some time and put on one hand some Neroli Porfotino Forte, which was quite good and I can still smell this morning from yesterday afternoon.

On my other hand I put on Diptyque's Oud somethingorother scent which I've now tested several times and as many ouds as I own and are out there, I still really like this one. Though there was a bit of a TF Oud Fleur musty powdery floral stage in there. I think I'll go buy one of those 10ml bottles they have as delux samples or whatever.

And then at the Malle counter they had a bottle of Monsieur, which I was expecting to be some sort of classic fresh herbal citrus wood thing but ended up being a total patchouli scent. I liked it quite quickly but it's just one wearing so I really have to get to know this one better. First impressions were good though. Before knowing anything about it, my first sense was purple, rubber/leather, a sharp sweetness, petroleum/oil, etc. Then they told me it was patch and I was like ah, yeah that all makes sense.

In a related note, Heeley's Esprit de Tigre is such an odd little scent but I think I really like it. No idea why but there's just something about it that I keep thinking about. Any fans here?

Yesterday I wore Black Orchid Voile de Fleur. I think this is my favorite of the Black Orchid scents. I think the original is my least favorite, even though I definitely do like it.
Today is Lyric Man.
