YSL - Caban Le Vestiaire des Parfums

Frederic Malle - Monsieur

Acqua Di Parma - Colonia leather

Byredo - 1996

4 insanely good perfumes I rotate between - for sunny days with more casual clothing I typical just go with a simple dior homme cologne.

Lorenzo Villoresi Musk. It's a lovely dusty, rose potpourri musk. It's long been one of my very favorites.

I hope it's a pre-formulation Lorenzo. The new versions are painfully pale.

yeah agreed, that line really suffered with reformulations!

Isn't this line still owned by Villoresi? If so, this is inexcusable.

Today I wore Yosh Sombre Negre and tonight was Montale Aoud Cuir d'Arabie.

Yes, Villoresi still owns it, AFAIK. However, post-IFRA, his sauce got weak. Piper Nigrum is possibly my favorite fragrance of all time, but the new formulation (in the clear bottle, not the frosted bottle) lacks the depth and complexity of the original.

I wore the pre-reformulation Musk. I have not smelled the new stuff. I'm not actually a fan of many of the Villoresis I've tried; Musk is by far my favorite.

As my SOTE I am wearing Acteur, which is a pleasant spicy rose that any guy could wear comfortably, I think.

Today I'm wearing Dior Homme. I can't believe I really like this stuff now. It took years for it to click.

I liked my sample of Dior Homme, probably enough that I'll get a bottle.  It is cheap enough for a full bottle.

I am wearing Jasmin et Cigarette today.

& I am wearing Tilda Swinton

Eau de Rochas today. I think this is the one marketed to women but it's similar to Eau Sauvage. A nice light citrus chypre.

Yesterday I wore a blend of Aromatic Elixir and Kiehl's Musk oil. They paired nicely.

Suggestions for a Souther Hemisphere Winter, (if it arrives) have a couple looking to expand my rotation. Have TF Tuscan Leather, Penhaligons Sartorial and Aqua Di Palma Colina at present.

That's what I'm wearing today.  Is it possible we're long lost best friends? (more so the golf comment, not that we smell similar)

I'm new to the frag game.  I currently have 6 scents.  Terre d'Hermes, Jimmy Choo, YSL l'homme, Gucci pour homme ii, John Varvatos, and D&G The One.  Little nervous to drop 2 bills on a smell (Creed) but I've heard nothing but good things so...here's to 2016.

Thats where samples come in handy.  Places like Surrender to Chance and The Perfumed Court allow you to choose from an insane amount of choices and grab what ends up being a few wears of scents for usually under $10 each.  Thats a great place to start and find out if you want to drop the serious money on full bottles.
