This review makes me excited.

1828. An OK frag; I wouldn't have bought this had it no been on sale.

30 degrees right now, hoing out to a Lebanese restaurant tonight. For a hot summer night, I'm thinking Colonia Essenza. Any other suggestions?

Hey everybody,

I figured this thread would be the best place to ask this question. I just got gift care to a fragrance place, I typically don't wear anything other than deodorant (rotate between the Baxter one and Hermes Homme Sport), but generally I like Bergamot and Citrus.

Anyway, I'm trying to decide between the following:

MMM Jazz Club (I've heard people either love it or hate)

CDG Amazingreen

CDG Wonderwood

TF Oud Wood

TF Tuscan Leather

Any recc's or suggestions?

er, well none of those have much to do with bergamot or citrus... Have you smelled the ones you listed and like them?

if you don't usually wear fragrances and want something light and easy to wear and non-offensive then I would suggest sampling your way through Hermes, Atelier, Chanel and Creed, and Le Labo plus probably a few other houses I'm forgetting.

No I haven't smelt any of them, oud wood and amazingreen both apparently have citrus and bergamot, but I'm mostly looking at those because the price aligns with the gift card.
There aren't really any places around that I can smell colognes other than Macy's, which doesn't have much locally. Iirc there is somewhere online that sells very small samples of cdg etc?

Last night I showered off the 1828 and wore YSL PH Haute Concentree for my summer evening scent.

Today is Bamboo Harmony, a grassy scent that nobody likes except for me. That's cool, as it allowed me to pick up a presentation bottle cheap on eBay.

Master-Classter is right, the scents that you have on your list are very much unlike the citrusy scents you prefer. (Tuscan Leather does have a raspberry note at the top, but it really is primarily a leather.)

If you are interested in Tom Ford, you might want to try Azure Lime. It's got a very realistic lime note. I should say, though, that the longevity is fairly poor. There's also Venetian Bergamot, which has a very nice bergamot note at the top.

I'd also suggest that you look into the Hermès Jardin series, especially Jardin sur le Nil and Jardin sur le Toit. Both of those are bright, fruity scents that have good staying power. (They're not bergamot scents, though.)

Bergamote 22 by Le Labo is definitely worth trying too. As the name suggests, that one does have a very prominent bergamot note.

Finally, I'd recommend Cologne by Etat Libre d'Orange. It's a classic cologne style scent, which means it's qutie citrusy, but its longevity is much, much better than most colognes.

My SOTD is Venetian Bergamot.

I'm still wearing Lonesome Rider, trying to decide if I want to get a bottle at the reduced price. I'm starting to back off the comparison to knize ten - this isn't as warm at it doesn't last as long. The other difference is that knize really goes from floral leather to warm sandalwood, while LR's leather note persists throughout the development. I wish the floral notes were a little more prominent. I'm starting to think I'd rather buy a bottle of Knize - I've been out for months, and it's really one of my very favorites.

Fou d'Absinthe. Nice greeny-woody opening, but it didn't really impose itself on my awareness during the day. Lasts OK.

L'Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme today.  Another fav of mine and many here.

The Afternoon of a Faun is the name of my SOTD today. I don't think it's a favorite of many here, but it's a favorite of mine and that's what counts I guess.
