Bond No.9 - Little Italy.
Orange-y. SWEET beyond sweet. Not as artificial as a popsicle or Sunny-D, but more like sticking your face into a basket of freshly cut mandarins and clementines. It screams for 30 seconds and then dies down. Lies extremely close to the skin, almost no projection. Could work well as a layering scent, but not substantial enough on its own.
Might try a layer with some Chanel Antaeus for a bit more citrus underneath.
Off to the opera in Diptyque Eau Rose.
I'm in Shalimar now for a late-night session of writing. It's such a comforting scent, and it helps me feel confident about getting the ideas in order.
What did you see? Eau Rose makes me think it must have been Italian. For something German or French, you'd need Knize or Guerlain, respectively. Or Caron. I'll guess and say you saw something Verdi or Puccini. Definitely not "parsifal" or "Les Troyens." (haha)
I ordered my first small decants from The Perfumed Court yesterday:
Creed Erolfa
Creed Neroli Sauvage
Clinique Happy
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue
I look forward to their arrival and I'm quite excited about the huge choice available through decants!
For what it's worth, Clinique Happy has always been a favorite in my family. But you can get free stuff just as easily from the clinique counter at a Dillards or Macy's...
He lives in England.
Anyway, at least here in Germany, it's very exhausting to beg for samples. Most SAs are very pretentious and don't like giving you anything. Chanel is the only house that actually sends you samples via mail (I've asked three or four houses). Hermès doesn't even offer samples of their Hermèssence line in their stores from what I have heard (but I guess that's the case worldwide).
Today: Montale Oud Cuir d'Arabie
I have experimented with many cuirs, but not that one.
