Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1542

Yesterday I wore Cyber Green, which I applied form a roll-on. It's a pleasant enough green fragrance, but from the outset there is something synthetic about it that makes it smell inferior to something like Green Valley. There is very definitely a funny smell that develops from this, which does seem to be vinyl. So I guess the perfume makers managed to achieve what they set out to do; the question is why would anybody want to wear it?

Today is a lot better: Russian Tea. As always, a big lapsang souchong opening. I didn't get as much mint today as I usually smell. It's dried down to tea, birch and a faint labdanum. Still a very nice scent 11 hours after first application.

TF Venetian Bergamot. I bought a flacon in duty free.

^^ I enjoy that one a lot.

Pre-shower: Féminité du Bois. Don't be put of by the "féminité" part, this is definitely a scent that any man could be comfortable wearing. It's a sharp woody, plummy scent with a healthy dose of cardamom and cinnamon. It's somewhat in the ballpark of Plum Japonais, although the latter is a bit softer and sweeter.

SOTD: True Lust Rayon Violet de Ses Yeux. I've enjoyed this from the first time I tried it (which was right after it came out), but I've been liking it more and more lately. It might be FBW.

For my SOTE I am wearing TF Black Orchid and its flankers (Voile de Fleur and Velvet Orchid) on different parts of my arms. I'm trying to decide which of the three is my favorite. (I don't own the new edt Black Orchid.) I don't think I can decide which one I like best; I alternate between Voile de Fleur and Velvet Orchid. In any event, I'm a big fan of all three.

Good segue, indeed.

Today is another green, Byredo Green. I did wonder at the opening of this just how green this was, and kept trying to figure out what nature of green it is. As the day wore on, it turned more sweet and a little cloying. Sorry, this is not what I expect when I spray something called "Green" on me.

Today I wore Une Rose Vermeille by Swiss perfume star Andy Tauer.

On a 30+C day today, I was sorely tempted to break out Monsieur Balmain. While digging around in my drawer for it, I stumbled on one I haven't worn for ages and chose it instead: CdG Energy C Lime. I like lime as a scent, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of it about in the form of perfumes. This is a good one, with a strong lime-lemon opening. This evening, the citruses have gone, and there is now gentle florals with a bit of sweetness. It doesn't have huge projection, but I think it lasts longer than a lot of the citrus scents that own.

Juniper Sling on a day that was a lot cooler. This is one that I enjoy, usually on a hotter day, but I got more longevity out of it than I usually would.

I've got at least one scent for each of the major citrus notes and for Lime the two I ended up with were Jo Malone Sweet Lime & Cedar (now discontinued), and also one of only 2-3 I own from the house, Bond #9 Central Park which has a lime blossom or something.
