Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1534

working my way through green woody/incense scents. Today it's Divine L'Homme Sage. I still rather quite like this.

Yesterday was V&R Antidote, which i must say I really liked too. Thought I was going to have a winner/loser between these two but I like them both.

Day before was Memoir and tomorrow will likely be Italian Cypress.

SOTE is Anne Pliska edp. This is a rich, sweet amber and patchouli. Luckyscent has this almost all the way to the feminine extreme of its continuum, but I don't understand that even a little bit.

Been wearing Diptyque's new fragrance today: Oud Palao. It is a classic combination of oud and a juicy rose that dries down to a dry, powdery oud and sandalwood base with a hint of rose and what seems to be roasted spices. This is nothing that original but it's a very good fragrance.

I hadn't even heard of that one. Sounds like something I might like.

A*Men, to fuel my Mugler addiction.

Today I'm wearing the much-hyped Parfum de Nicolai New York. Not sure how I feel about it. Smells old school and like something a 50-year-old CEO would wear.

You know, I'm going to wear my A*Man this weekend. It should be the right weather for that.

Today I'm wearing Montale Black Aoud. I wanted to compare it to the Oud Palao.

Hermes - Hermesssence - Poivre Sarmancande

Not very conplex but one of my favorite workday scents, I always carry a Coffret in my briefcase.

^^ I'm not a fan of the Hermessence series at all, but Poivre Samarcande is definitely one of the good ones.

And I agree with Ambulance Chaser about PdN NY: it definitely has an old-school executive vibe.

I'm wearing Villoresi Musk today. It's a wonderful dusty, potpourri musky rose.

I thought New York smelled old fashioned the first time I tried it, but over time that feeling fell away. I think it's the aldehydes that give it that impression.

Wearing New York today myself. I don't mind your description, being well past 50 myself, and wouldn't mind being 50 again, or being CEO. Neither is going to happen.

I'm wearing Santa Maria Novella's Tabacco Toscano, which is a theoretically rich tobacco fragrance that is balanced out by the fact that it is an eau de cologne. There's a slight dried, stemmy bitterness to it as well, which balances out the vanilla-like sweetness to make it a very cozy fragrance.

I am wearing Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL). I am hoping to finish the book I've been working on today. In the past, Kouros has served as a good luck charm for writing.

Today it's L'Artisan Timbuktu. For all it's praise, i've tried to really love this but it doesn't really stand out to me. Meh, don't get it.
