Not sure what they have for an actual B&M store, but I've ordered from them online before. It's one way to save a few bucks on FM stuff. Shipping took a lloonngg time though. I had assumed the package was lost, but it eventually arrived.

That's actually the Kurfürsten Parfümerie. I've never been to it personally, but I've seen pictures and it doesn't look like it's worth taking a trip there for the atmosphere alone. The service might be very good, I don't know.

Yes, I definitely liked Gold Woman better than Gold Man.

Also, your experience of Patchouli Absolu is exactly the same as mine. It's okay after the first couple of hours, but the top is quite unpleasant.

I spent a couple of days in Koln, went to Farinahaus, in part it's what started this whole interested of mine in fragrance actually!

Edit - forgot to mention, it's a relatively small shop, but they do 'tours' ie exit through the giftshop type things but only at certain times on certain days so check beforehand. And I'd recommend reading up on a few of their scents before so you know what/if you want to actually buy anything since I got there and only had an enthusiastic salesperson to rely on.

Totally off scenter but I thought Koln was the highlight of my week in Germany (Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, and Koln). That cathedral is absolutely stunning, one of the best in Europe. The walk along the river there is really nice, and I went to some Lindt chocolate 'museum' type thing but again, note times they're open/closed and tour times since I missed out.

as for spraying, I usually do one on the chest, one back of the neck, and one or two on the wrist and then dab them together. sometimes I do the double spray on the chest and stomach instead of the wrist, just depends what sort of projection the scent has.

Nice!

I'm thinking it would be good to use as aftershave aswell.

Just ordered the sampler kit from Juliette Has a Gun (10 € for 9x2 mL atomizer samples, free shipping). And a sample kit from MKK (14 € for four 2 mL atomizer samples, free shipping--I picked APOM homme, Lumière Noire homme, OUD Silk Mood and OUD). Also interested in the ELDO sample kit. 39 € for 20x1.5 mL samples. Unfortunately, shipping isn't free and relatively expensive. Have any of you ordered it? Does it contain atomizer samples (in which case I'd buy it) or plain sample vials (in which case I'd order single samples from Aus Liebe zum Duft)? Couldn't find any info.

Tobacco Vanille today.

I haven't ordered the whole sample pack, but I think I own samples that originally came from that pack. They are plain sample vials.

Bummer. Then it's not worth it. Thanks. Memo also has sample kits. Sadly, way too expensive shipment (18 € to Germany).

I spray onto my chest with my shirt on so the shirt can capture any of the mist and therefore maximizing the longevity, and I just use a maximum of two sprays. My nose is pretty sensitive, I believe.

It's a good time of the year to be wearing Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui, which I'm wearing today. For those who appreciate '80s masculines, then you really should find a vintage bottle of this because it's very inexpensive and objectively a masterpiece. It can be so many things due to its incredible balance and complexity: spicy, herbal, leather, oriental, woody, and more - all depending on the temperature, your body's metabolism, or your mood.

What I wanted to point out and forgot yesterday is that despite its declaration as "EdC (to be fair, it says concentrée)", Colonia Leather has very good longevity and sillage. Have any of you tried it? Thoughts?

FWIW, I can proxy for you. Just 3.45 € shipping up to 500g (albeit without insurance and tracking). Prolly good for samples though.

I had some samples from that swap box from ages ago which had basically dried out so I poured in some rubbing alcohol and shook every few days and they're sort of back to normal. I love their blue bottles and wish I would find the line somewhere (NYC?) because i'm very interested in the juice. Anyone have any experience and thoughts about the line in terms of their style, quality, prices, etc (besides piper nigrum please, I've heard all about it already ;-))

There are a few Northern American stockiest that I'm aware of. You can order direct from LAFCO: http://www.lafco.com. New London Pharmacy (also in NYC) http://www.newlondonpharmacy.com, and the perfume shoppe (in Vancouver, BC & Scottsdale, AZ) http://www.theperfumeshoppe.com also stock Villoresi.

Barneys began to stock some, but never got past home fragrances, IIRC.

Villoresi is one of my favorites. In addition to PN, Yerbamate and Incensi are part of my regular rotation. Even the scents I haven't been a huge fan of have struck me as being very well put together.

Unfortunately, reformulation…

I've smelled the new Piper Nigrum, and it really lacks the strength and presence of the original version. I'm not sure what's been done with the others.
