Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1355

Pre-shower: Paestum Rose. A peppery, warm spicy rose. This gets a lot of love in the online fragrance community. I like it but don't love it.
SOTD: Olene edt. This is a green jasmine scent with some yellow floral notes. It is somewhat indolic, but it's not overpowering.

Just follow APJ. It’s definitely worth you joining as Portia does some excellent give-aways, open to all comers. I won a FB of Penhaligons from her a while ago. Some of my friends are contributors (as am I occasionally) and most articles are worth a read.

Details on the Michael Edwards offer are in the list of Recent Posts.

was excited to see the book deal, but despite the 50% off, meaning only $105, they want $70 shipping+handling... ah, hello!?

SOTE is Lagerfeld Photo (vintage). It's probably fair to say that this was the fragrance that first got me excited about perfumes. When I smell it, I am instantly transported back to 1992 and the apartment I lived in when I bought it. (It's been reformulated since then; the new version isn't remotely as good.) It opens very bright with citrus and lavender. It develops into a floral heart. It dries down woody and soapy.

Energy C Lime today. Maybe not quite hot enough yet for such a straight citrus, but it was a sunny day and it seemed right.

Only came to $AU112.50 shipped for me. I suspect this might have something to do with a US shipping address.

I have not tried it, but it is hard for me to imagine Terre in the form of an eau très fraiche.

Pre-shower: Déclaration d'un Soir. It's a spicy rose with lots of pepper and cardamom. As it dries down, the woody facets become more prominent.
SOTD: LIDGE. This absolutely lives up to the hype IMO. At the very beginning, I get a root beer barrel note!

Over the last week, I have worn Eau Sauvage, Van Cleef & Arpels' Tsar, and Kerosene's R'oud Elements. The last was definitely one of the most exciting perfume experiences I have had.

Put on Jicky Pure Parfum today. I did not get any indolic/barnyard elements at all. Just huge lavender top notes, settling into warm spicy midnotes ending into a kind of flowery vanillic "splattered" base. Is it the new formulation, or is something wrong with my nose?

my parfum is pretty stanky. got it about a year, year and a half ago.
