Today for me was Oriza L. LeGrand Oeillet Louis XV.  Interesting carnation scent, with herbs and spices.

I have a sample of Memoir Man and tried it on my wrists today - man, this is some good stuff! I think I have my first Amouage purchase lined up.

Also got a a sample of Fate Man - while it is quality, I need more time with it because, unlike Memoir, it is not immediately gratifying with the immortel component. Funny, because I love Tilda Swinton Like This and its heavy immortel, but Fate is more of a curry-like immortel and I will need some more time on this.

I had actually, and I was quite surprised. I think what may have happened is that I usually apply scent after a moisturiser layer. I had a different moisturiser with me, and I suspect it was not as good a barrier.

Today is CdG Play Red.

Going out after work tonight for a classy event so rocking the Jubilation XXV today, unfortunately my light touch approach may have been overdone today as I can barely detect any after just 3 hours...thankgoodness I keep a small stash of Creed MI for emergencies.

Morning all

Pre-shower (ie, last night's leftovers):  Huitieme Art Parfum's Ambre Ceruleen. This amber starts with herbal notes, a la Ambre Sultan, and quickly switches over to a slightly sweet mix with tonka and cinnamon.  A nice overnight scent. What I've been asking myself about the ambers is, how many do you really need? Several of them work great for me, including this one.

My working frag of the day is L'Artisan's Safran Troublant, an interesting combo of snappy ginger, saffron and milky sandalwood. Starts with a nice kick of sage, to my nose, though I don't see that listed. Anyway, the fragrance seems appropriate for the return of cool autumn temps.

Every time I've tried Safran Troublant I've liked it and yet I've never considered getting a bottle.

Today is our first 30 degree day for more than six months, so it's nice to break out the summer scents once again. Today is Monsieur Balmain.

I really liked ST. It might be a bit underpowered, in that it never projects much more than mildly, but then again projection can be a negative for office wear. And I practically live at the office. Length was pretty good. Went 7-8 hours for me. And the scent is quietly yummy and interesting. I'm going to sample it one more day, but expect after that it may end up on my buy list.
