It's weird. Some times I quite like it, other times it sort of smells like the RC Cola my parents would buy when I was a kid. We'll see how it develops.

Chergui is way too dense for me - I overwhelms my palette.

Coriolan today.

It also sometimes is a little powdery too. I have two young kids and the powder scents just have an association with baby poop for me. Maybe it will pass in a few years, but I'm definitely not into anything too powdery right now.

Honore des Pres Nu Green. Meh. Barely lasted the walk from the bathroom to the bedroom.

Musc Ravageur last night. Wife wore Divine l'enfant. Hers was quite subtle and pretty, thanks for that recommendation L'Incandescent! I smell like vanilla pudding the morning after, LOL!

Just went to the Divine web site (http://www.divine.fr/) since I knew nothing about them before L'Incandescent's recommendation. Just looked at their L'homme de coeur. Here's the final sentence of their description: "It blossoms finally into a world of woodiness and amber - vetiver, ambergris, and deer tongue." Is deer tongue a thing now?!

Deer tongue is a sweet grass. It's not very common, but I think natural perfumers often use it.

I'm a big fan of Divine. Their scents are modern, but very much inspired by the classics. Their feminines are especially this way. Their masculines are very good too; L'Homme Sage got lots of good reviews when it first came out, and deservedly so. L'Homme de Coeur is cool and bracing, and very traditionally masculine, despite the prominence of iris. L'Homme Infini is a very woody, peppery scent that resembles Hermes Poivre Samarcande. The only masculine I'm not a big fan of is L'Etre Aime, which features a very strong immortelle note. It's hard to do immortelle right, IMO, because it really tends to dominate the scent.

Have you ever tried Metaboles by Ys Uzac? It's quite similar to Geranium pour Monsieur, but I think it's just a touch greener and the mint is less toothpasty. I'm not sure which I like better; they're both very good.

I suppose I should have Googled that ... L'Homme Sage sounds particularly interesting.

No, I haven't. But I will try to find it, because it sounds really interesting! I really like GpM, but it doesn't stand out until the dry down since I too find the top mint to be a bit too toothpasty.

Thanks for the tip!

I really like Jeux de Peau a lot. It's probably a bit better for the cooler months, but I still wear it sometimes in the summer.

Pre-shower: Lys Fume. As I've mentioned before, I think this is my second favorite of the most recent batch of Private Blends, behind Cafe Rose.
SOTD: Citizen Queen by Juliette Has A Gun.
