How many of the Histoires line have you tried?

I like them but they all have this very "ambery" base, so I just have one: 1826.

I wore that as my pre-shower scent today. My SOTD is PdN New York.

1828 yesterday, wearing 1740 today, and I also have 1725 to try in the next day or so.

This is an interesting one. There's a beautiful soft nutmeg accord, but it isn't overly sweet or spicy. It's also got a fresh metallic "bite" to it that's at turns elegant and brash (supposedly eucalyptus, but I suspect a large part may actually be the aromachemical allyl amyl glycolate; a key component of fragrances Drakkar Noir and Cool Water...) Contrary to you and others, I actually find that it's pretty strong stuff (I have to go easy on the sprayer...) and lasts quite a long time. I love the drydown...

SOTD: Dior Homme.

I've worn this a few times before, but this time I sprayed on more than usual. I really enjoyed it, and actually kept getting whiffs of Vol de Nuit in the drydown ( I don't know why, maybe it was a fluke? I'll have to test it again and see. Can't complain, though!) I'm getting to really enjoy iris lately, though my wife keeps telling me it smells too "powdery" (which unfortunately seems to be her catch-all phrase for "old lady" or too feminine or something...)

SOTE: HdP 1828 (I am suggestible, it seems...)

I don't have the sprayer, just the small decant. I'll give it another shot.

Today: Yardley Citrus & Wood.

It is similar to Terre d'Hermes but, to my nose, is not as strong on vetiver and and smells less synthetic. It's not as long-lasting as TdH and also not as complex.

HdP 1725 tonight. Not really a fan. Anything remotely smelling like baby powder is just not what I want to smell like.

Today: Santa Maria Novella Eva.

Gonna be honest, I really don't care for this one at all. It smells like the "Powder Fresh" Secret deodorant my wife used to use. This decant goes over to her bin I think.

Vengeance Extreme by Juliette Has A Gun. It's been a long time since I've worn this; I like it better than I remember.

The more I think about this fragrance, the more perfect it becomes in my eyes.
