It's a ton of fun! It's hard to imagine my life without this hobby; it's such an enjoyable part of each day.

This is becoming a much-loved go-to scent for me. I'd like to explore the current version as a comparison, but the vintage juice is spicy, herbal, leathery/tobacco-y and strange. I love it...

Today: vintage Guerlain Vetiver.

I look forward to hearing your perspective on different fragrances, considering the good taste you've shown in other threads - specifically the Architecture Threak. Perfumery satisfies many things for me. The beauty of perfumes/colognes (or whatever you want to call it) is what it all boils down to, but there's the intellectual aspects that really are endless realms of information to create a much deeper appreciation of this hobby. There's the history of different styles of fragrances. There's the botany of the ingredients, or the biology of the animal components. There's also the chemistry and physics of what different odors do and how they behave with one-another.

A strong recommendation for you is to get on board with the "Swap Box" of samples that Master-Classter has set up many times to be mailed from person to person so you can sample very high quality fragrances without having to purchase them.

Snap. Me too.

Yesterday and last night I went for Noir de Noir because I had a do on after work and needed something day/night. I got many compliments from the ladies, but they were all to do with what a fabulous-looking chap I am. Tom doesn't get the credit biggrin.gif

I got a sample of Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur yesterday at Barneys and am wearing it on my left wrist this morning - now THIS is a special leather fragrance! I love leathers and have felt like there's been a ceiling on innovation in this realm until I tried this on a blotter for the first time yesterday. I've never really investigated Heeley's fragrances before.

Ten hours later this shit is still going strong on my arm. Very impressive longevity.

Anyone tried Oud Shamash by The Different Company? I tested it yesterday and find it to be one of the best ouds I've smelled in a long time.
Yes, I was very impressed by it. I had been looking forward to trying it for a while when I finally got the opportunity, and I wasn't disappointed at all.

I do prefer Mona di Orio's oud, though.

Did it smell like any of the uncleansed parts of a person's anatomy?
