Hey gang, you'll never guess what I did, I switched into Prescriptives Calyx for the evening.

In a melon mood?
Do you or your wife wear this? It does indeed feature some very ripe melon notes. I wasn't actually in the mood for those notes; I just picked out a fragrance that I hadn't worn in a while. I'm not a big fan of this, to be honest.

My wife used to wear it years ago and I then got a sample of it for her to try it again. It's very good, but to me it's best fitting on a twenty-something woman.

I can't help perceiving Calyx as dated. That's not the same as bad, of course.

Pre-shower: Bleu de Chanel
SOTD: Santal Majuscule

SOTD: Prada Luna Rossa. My favorite Prada ever. Or is it the novelty effect ? smile.gif

Today: Guerlain Vetiver.

HIm by Hanae Mori today. Now that it has dried down a bit I really enjoy this fragrance. The EDT is far better IMHO then the EDP.

Past few days:
CdG No. 2 (I got a lot of stink from this one?!)

oud oil
Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune
TF - AA
Chanel - Antaeus

SOTD: Bel Ami.

I still find it a little sweet, but it's growing on me. Seeing how much more I like the vintage version of Equipage, I wonder how the vintage version of Bel Ami pans out (didn't J-CE go in and fiddle with modernize it when he came on board at Hermes?)

SOTD: Attar Al Kaaba

SL Five O'Clock Gingembre. Beautiful scent, but no persistance and sillage.

I tried some vintage a few months back from a tester bottle. Sprayed onto cotton, it was mesmerizing. Sprayed onto skin, it was strikingly similar to the current production, from top to drydown.

SOTD: Acqua Universalis Forte by MFK

An associate at Nieman Marcus was basically filling my bag full of MFK samples yesterday, easily a few hundred dollars worth. On a side note, MFK is coming to NM (King of Prussia Mall) this Saturday and anyone can walk in and meet the guy.
