Well, on the one hand I enjoy it quite a bit. On the other hand, I wear it maybe a handful of times a year, so I probably have some sort of mental block against it.

It is assertive and dated (the rosemary in particular lends it that late-70's hairy-chested vibe), which is probably why I seldom reach for it.

I know Rambo has because he's the one who sent me a sample.

Pre-shower: TF Jasmin Rouge
SOTD: Parure by Guerlain

Really? They hit the supermarket shelves here straight after the Chistmas sales and are there for months until Easter's over. They're inescapable, like chocolate eggs.

SOTD: Guerlain Heritage. I'm travelling and I brought this one as it seems like a good all-rounder.

Wearing it tonight. I like it, but I don't like like it.

Horns - you can do better elsewhere.

today - Montale Dark Oud. This takes the somewhat fruity/ambery note in Dark Purple, which I found so enjoyable, and replaces it with oud, which ruins the whole fuckin thing.

31 Rue Cambon for the evening. I know this has a lot of enthusiastic supporters, but I just don't get it. It lasts about 10 minutes on me.

Hmm, there's a strangeness about Coeur de Vetiver Sacre, which is definitely there but I really like it - primarily the fruity aspect.

Yeah, that's what makes me not wear Azzaro Pour Homme all that much either (and in fact, many older aromatic fougères...) I'm slowly trying to work up enough of a "fuck it" attitude with some of these more dated, difficult or overly "dirty" fragrances with a lot of civet or costus in them. (I don't know how you MKK wearers do it...)

Pre-shower: Poivre Samarcande
SOTD: Must de Cartier parfum.

Often when I wear a scent, I try to imagine how I'd feel about it if I smelled it on someone else. It helps to give me a little better perspective when I do that. But with Must de Cartier, I can't guess at all what my reaction would be. And I have no idea how I'd characterize it. It's just strange.

Today: Avignon because it's Easter weekend.

I really like Must's strangeness. Others just think Obsession. eh.gif

This is one I want to check out...

Today: Histoires de Parfums 1828. For the evening I switched into Timbuktu, which I found out layered quite nicely.

Good choice. Wish I'd thought of that.
