Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1022

Intended to wear some PdN-NY for the evening. Keiko Mecheri's Musc was what I grabbed first though (both samples are in an unsorted box, not in a ziplock bag).

This thread just got gayer

As it should be

I recall that the first time I wore Santal Noble, I wasn't really impressed since I thought that not much was going on. Today, I smelled a very focused santal fragrance. I think I'll have to revisit it tomorrow again, applying heavily on the wrist (so I can check it easily).
Speaking of santal, have you tried Santal Majuscule yet, Bryan?

I'm really digging Musc by Keiko Mecheri. I think I ordered it due to a recommendation by rach back then and worn it twice or thrice so far (and always enjoyed it). It's one of the best musc scents I've smelled so far. Not too soapy, not bland, not too powdery -- still generally on the feminine side.

Today: Habit Rouge.

So true.

@b1os: I actually have not bought any new fragrances for almost two months now. (I actually bought some earlier today, but that wasn't a batch of samples.) I will be ordering some fairly soon, and I will definitely make sure Santal Majuscule is one of them.

MrMan, speaking of leathers, also try Blood Concepts Type 0. often compared to Tuscan Leather. also there's some other knockoff floating around the interwebs it's called something like playa or gold or some cheasy name but i sampled it and was actually pretty solid.

UPDATE EDIT - it's called GOLDEN BOY...

SOTD: Prada Amber PH Intense. I might even like this one more than the original Myrrh and patchouli and citrus over the original clean soapy floral base.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten entirely about Blood Concepts O. (I gave all my Blood Concepts away a couple of months ago.) M-C is right, it is reminiscent of Tuscan Leather. If anything, I'd say the fruity note is even more pronounced in the Blood Concepts O.

I remember santal noble being kinda poopy, too (in a good way).

Great, thanks! I've never heard of this one...looking forward to tracking some down.

SOTD: Guerlain Eau de Cologne du 68

Got 5 little vials mailed to me by a Neiman's SA this week, in reference to a visit to the store over 3 months ago (they were waiting for a restock):

Creed Spice and Wood. I'd only tried this once at the counter, believing it too strong out of the bottle. But I am absolutely loving this scent in real life. Wish a bottle wasn't as obscenely priced as it is (compared to other Creeds). Longevity is great - my wife commented on it even 10 hours after application. But it's not quite a powerhouse either, as its sillage isn't massive and off putting. Really like this one.

Pre-shower: Soussanne. I've said it before, but in general, I find the Keiko Mecheri Bespoke line disappointing. I like the regular lineup much better.
SOTD: Aftelier Wild Roses. Smells like potpourri.

@b1os: I bought a whole bottle of Santal Majuscule blind on your recommendation. If I don't like it, I will be mad as a hornet, and I will start typing on the forum in all caps until such time as I am banned.

Picked up myself a couple new colognes. I'm now having a hard time keeping my shirt buttoned.

I'd have been disappointed if you hadn't bought into my recommendation.

So, Santal Noble again. Baron, I agree with you. Definitely stink in their, more prominent in the beginning. I also smell quite a bit pepper, but apparently that's just me.

Test driving Tobacco Vanille today, with a view to wearing it at a big wedding next week. Not really a fan because the vanilla note is a bit up-front for what I'm looking for. I might go with MFK Oud or one of the Montales instead.

I tested Noir de Noir yesterday, and that would have been great except my sample hasn't arrived yet.
