Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 1020

All good recommendations for gong so far. I'd add these:

Oud Ispahan
Musc Ravageur
Mona di Orio Oud (already in Rambo's suggestions, but I really want to reiterate it. It's fantastic.)
Incense Rose (Tauer)
Amber Absolute (Tom Ford). It's been discontinued, but I'm pretty sure you can still find it. It's among the very best in the amber genre, IMO.
Incense Oud--by Kilian

@HORNS: Is Tuscan Leather really polarizing? I'm surprised at that; I can't imagine anyone having a strong negative opinion about it. Is it maybe the fruity top?

^ I would agree that it is a polarizing fragrance. I find the raspberry note sickenly sweet, followed by an unmistakable wet ashtray, gasoline infused leather note that I can never find a situation appropriate enough to wear. My wife agrees, and is revolted by the smell she describes as "trying too hard to be manly". Others I know rank this as their favorite leather, so to each his own.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected that! I really like raspberry notes, though.

^ Awesome. I think I could enjoy raspberry, and I know it is often combined with leather, but something about the blend here doesn't feel right to me. Do you have any recommendations for anything masculine with raspberry/berry notes I could try out? I have tried Clive Christian C and think I detected a hint of raspberry, and remember liking it more than TL as a comparison. Thanks.

Divine - L'Homme Sage today.

Tuscan Leather never did the trick for me so far. It's just far too extreme to me, for some reason. Will have to revisit again soon.

Portrait of a Lady is absolutely amazing! I was chatting with the lady at the Le Labo counter and she told me about an experience she had wearing POAL. She was in a grocery store, and all of a sudden someone came running up to her and said "it's her, it's her!" The SA (who was black, btw) thought something very bad was happening. But it turns out the person had chased her all around the store to find out what that wonderful scent was.

I recently had a woman chase me down too in order to find out what I was wearing. (It was POAL.)
