Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 966

Does anyone else feel like Rose 31 & Wonderwood are awfully similar in the dry down?

I'm quite disappointed by L'Air du desert marocain. I had high hopes after smelling the sample vial but it's just too linear of a scent on my skin for me to enjoy. Longevity is incredible I'll give it that, 10 hours after 1 spray to the chest it went through my t shirt onto a sweater I was wearing in cold weather.

First day of the spring semester today. The opening day start goes to Une Rose Chypree.

Today I'm testing Asprey Purple Water. I hate it, frankly. On application it's reminiscent of lemon-scented laundry powder. After a couple of hours, all I can smell is overwhelming musk.
Useless for wearing to work, so this one goes down as a failure, I think.

I bought that blind at a discounter years ago, and hated it so badly I returned it to the store.

I liked Palisander quite a bit, but put it into one of the swap boxes, so I hope someone else is enjoying it now. I kinda miss it.

Good one.

...

Today, I knew what I was going to wear, clothing-wise, but had no idea on the scent. Finally I grabbed Bulgari Black which I have but never think about, or at least never used to think about until someone in a scent group I post to, posted a picture of it which involved a Christmas tree, a bottle of Bulgari Black, and handcuffs. I don't know why I would respond to such an off-beat and suggestive image (or the discussion that followed), but for some reason I put it into the winter rotation and am not regretting it.

Yes. I like to be as pretentious as possible.

I almost wore Black today as well. I had an important meeting today, so I figured I'd play it a little safer with Sycomore...

SOTD: 99 Regent St, by Hugh Parsons. This one is very light, inoffensive, but is not holding up too well. Only mid-day and I can barely smell it.

What is the best place to buy samples and also buy bottles of CdG?

I've been hunting out samples lately. I've found CdG at Surrender to Chance and at Lucky Scent, for $3/ml. Can't say how long either of these guys take to deliver, however.
