I thought it would be a good idea to have scent of the day thread where people could post which cologne or aftershave they are wearing that day and maybe a small descriptive blurb if they like.

I'll go first. Today I am wearing L'Artisan Parfumer Tea for Two. It's smoky and spicy and reminds me of the exotic scent of the Lapsang Souchong tea.

Annick Goutal Sables

Overcast day today, wearing this fragnance makes everything seem less gloomy.

I can smell notes of amber, caramel, vanilla and spices. It has great lasting power.

Humid and nasty over here calls for something simple and light - Da Vinci Water hydrosol from QED.
Considering its just a mixture of lavender and rosewater hydrosols you can't detect either. It has a nice little scent all its own.

Dmax,
Sables is an interesting choice and I agree good for overcast days. It's all great in gloomy winter weather. I think one of the major notes you are getting (that is something like the vanilla/spices combo) is called "imortelle," which is one of those love-it or hate-it notes. It's also prevalent in Dior Eau Noire, which causes some to think they smell similar. The Sables, though, is much earthier and deep, but they both are nice!

As for me:
8/22: Pengaligon's Blenheim Bouquet (I like the way it warms up in the heat).
8/23: Bvlgari Eau ThÃ

Blanc
8/24: Erolfa (Creed)
8/25: Comme des Garcons Series 3: Cologne Citrico
8/26: Montale Greyland
8/27: Bond no. 9 West Broadway
8/29: Royal Scottish Lavender (Creed)
8/30: Masaki Matsushima Mat; Male
8/31: Prada Infusion d'Iris (just came out this month; sort of a softer, lighter Dior Homme without the leather. Technically, the Prada is marketed as a woman's scent, but it's no more feminine than the Dior. And, I find it a lot more interesting than the other upper-mainstream Iris scent, Hermes Hiris. )
9/1: Morning: Creed Bois du Portugal
9/1: Evening: I've been invited to an "80's theme" party tonight, so aside from my Miami Vice style outfit (vintage Versace, of course), Chanel Antaeus is going to compliment nicely.

9/2: Bond no. 9 Fire Island
9/3: Etro Mahogany
9/4: Thierry Mugler B*Men: one of the only scents I can think of with a prounounced note of rhubarb. Weird, but fun, and sadly discontinued...
9/5: Wet, humid, gloomy... a perfect day for L'artisan Voleur de Rose
9/6: Fresh Cannabis Santal
9/7: Etro Sandalo
9/8: Viktor & Rolf Antidote
9/9: Helmut Lang Eau de Cologne
9/10: Voleur de Rose (again)
9/11: morning: Frank Los Angeles no. 1/ had an evening dinner engagement and worn Serge Lutens un Cedre
9/12: Helmut Lang Eau de Cologne
9/13: Creed Royal Scottish Lavender
9/14: L'artisan Parfumeur Patchouli Patch (the weather is fluctuating daily between sunny and nice ((yesterday)) and wet and dreary (today). Nothing better than L'aP PP on a dreary day.
9/15: Creed Aubepine Acacia
9/16: Bond no. 9 Fire Island
9/19: Comme des Garcons Citrico layered with Vettiveru

Geo. Trumper's Curzon. Crisp and outrageously strong. Should never be sprayed (Thomas learned this the hard way...). Starting to like it again.

Don't you find Blenheim Bouquet overpowering in the heat? IIRC, it's quite potent.

It's quite potent, but not heavy. The florals and the spice have definite kick, but they don't weigh anything down and so I quite like them when it's hot and muggy. Another that I like in the heat (but for different reasons) is Art of Shaving Sandalwood. It, too, "comes alive" with some added heat.

love that stuff, but I've never gotten the name. it doesn't smell like absinth at all to me. It should be more crisp, with more bite. I hardly get the anise from it at all. FdA, on me, always makes me think of boozy eggnog for some reason.
