No, oddly enough I've never tried it. I kind of like patch, too.

...and SMW, as well.

Jubilation XXV for the day. And Farmacia SS. Annunziata - Isos for the evening -- actually pretty good. Don't remember the last time I wore it.

Been out of the game for a few years, rotating between some CDG stuff and feeling pretty pleased. However, I just discovered a shoe-box full of samples from when this was a serious interest, and realized I'd like to get back to it... A few things:

* Are samples in plastic bottles holding up after 2-3 years? Stored dark and relatively free from temperature changes.

* Best site (cheap, nice variety) for ordering new ones shipped to (within?) Europe?

* Anything I need to try? Brands to look out for? The box contained Yatagan, L'Artisan Méchant Loup (think I had a few more from them and really liked them), Montale Black Aoud, Aoud Lime, and Aoud Safran, CDG 2, a bunch of Byredo I think I got from a friend, Idole by Lubin, Czech 88, Acqua di Parma. I have no idea what some of them are (50% are unused), and why a 17 y/o myself would've ordered them.

Winter is coming, so some focus on stuff for colder weather, but anything is of interest. redface.gif

where did you order?
worakl, have a look at these sites:

www.surrendertochance.com
www.ausliebezumduft.de
www.essenza-nobile.de
www.luckyscent.com
www.theperfumedcourt.com

As for suggestions, it would be helpful to know which notes you like.

Also, http://www.czechandspeake.com/Samples
http://comme-des-garcons-parfum.com/request-sample/ (I'm sure you have a pet or two with valid e-mail addresses so you can get all thee samples)

@woraki: Interesting samples there, especially Fils de Dieu. That one's really wonderful. As b1os said, it would be helpful to know what notes you tend to like. But what I'm going to do is just give a list of fragrances that have gotten lots of positive attention, both here and in other parts of the online fragrance community. (My list focuses on relatively recent stuff. I have no doubt that I will forget some that I should have included.)

L'Air du Desert Marocain--Tauer
Noir de Noir--Tom Ford
Portrait of a Lady--Frederic Malle
Invasion Barbare--MDCI
Tobacco Vanille--Tom Ford
L'Homme Sage--Divine
A*Men Pure Malt--Thierry Mugler
A*Men Pure Havane--Thierry Mugler
Terre d'Hermes--Hermes
Puredistance M
Dzing!--L'Artisan Parfumeur
Al Oudh--L'Artisan Parfumeur
Rose 31--Le Labo
Oud 27--Le Labo
Aventus--Creed
Sycomore--Chanel
Bois des Iles--Chanel
Coromandel--Chanel
Muscs Koublai Khan--Serge Lutens
Chergui--Serge Lutens
34 Boulevard Saint Germain--Diptyque

Hope that's helpful.

For me, pre-shower is Ambre Mirabilis by Keiko Mecheri. (On the whole, I found her Bespoke Series disappointing, but this is one of the better ones. I like the scents from her regular line more.)

Went with first-in-fragrance (ausliebezumduft) since I had a 10 euro voucher with them! That list is much appreciated, and since FiF lacked SL, Malle and Le Labo, all of which sound like very interesting stuff, I need to look through the other sites.
