There's definitely a family resemblance between LDDM and LdD. Still, I can imagine someone not liking the former but still liking the latter. LDDM is quite heavy and dense, which some people don't like. LdD is much airier.
The true masterpiece of the Tauer lineup, IMHO, is Une Rose Chypree. It is exactly what the name suggests it is!
Also, MKK is really wonderful.
