I really need to get myself a small decant of that. I have that thought every time you post that as your SOTD, but then I always forget. (I guess it's a good thing I forget sometimes about things I want to buy.)

Also, just a heads-up to everyone in this thread: I'm working on a new forum personality, sort of like the Cruiser of fragrances. I'm going to start reporting Axe and Brut and Jovan Musk every day and mock you all for thinking there's anything better.

I'm also working on a '70s sitcom style catch phrase to go along with my new persona. Here's what I've got so far: "If it ain't at Ross, you don't need it, Hoss!" Or maybe "If it ain't at the Maxx then the fragrance is whacks!"

Ah, well, if you want to be consistent and authentic in your Cruiser-tastic persona, please send me any all of your Tom Ford scents and I'll gladly accept your taunts.

Whoops, forgot I posted in here recently, thanks for the replies to my allergy issue a couple weeks ago . Basically I get bad nose-burn and headache from LOTS and lots of scents and I'm fumbling around trying to find ones that don't stab me in the face.

Been trying some more scents (clearly a lot just at a local garbage mall + an arbitrary luckyscent order), gonna post a big list and if anyone feels like making some recommendations I'd be very grateful!

Diptyque - Eau Lente: LOVE this! Even though it just smells like christmas there's something really alluring to me about this.
Diptyque - Philosykos: ok someone just sprayed an incredible scent onto a pile of cut grass. any recommendations for something with lots of fig but no lawnmower?
Hermes Eau De Pamplemousse Rose: nice but i can hardly smell this though i love saying Pample-mouse like a little pampered mouse in a tiny bed with the covers pulled up drinking hot cocoa :]
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir: no, russian lady working the jo malone counter, this is not a dude scent, and it is not "very sexy" and wait holy shit is your name really Zveldanika ? damn.
Le Labo - Oud 27: just dug up a chest of strange garments buried beneath the basement of the house my grandmother lived in when i was 5 and she was still alive and so was the sun. any other oud suggestions?
Lush Icon: like this but it feels slightly "empty"? like there should be something else there to make it complete.
Tom Ford Noir: REALLY liked this until i found out it had civet in it and i don't really feel right about scraping an animals ass for like a number of reasons. anything similar sans ass?

Lush Smell of Freedom: eventual bad reaction which would be a shame if i wanted to smell like girl baby powder
Lush Breath of God: love this after the overwhelming smoke wears off but eventual noseburn
Jo Malone Vetyver: cool i smell like a department and someone shoved knitting needles up my nostrils
Jo Malone Lime and Basil: i love lime scent but cant wear this one pain
Jo Malone Black Vetyver: this is supposed to smell like coffee? what? ow pain
Jo Malone Blueberry Bay Leaf: feel bad even including the jo malones here but hey free samples and no cant wear this either pain pain

Anyone who knows a lot about fragrance ingredients able to pick up a theme on what's killing me allergywise? I have guesses about coumarin and musk?

This evening: Passage d'Enfer.

It's very much a butch, dirty/soapy fougere, very much of a kind with a certain style of 70s/80s masculine. Not as dirty as Kouros, not as clean as Van Cleef & Arpels PH, a bit spicier than Trussardi Uomo. When I first got into fragrances I didn't like this style at all - these scents all reminded me of locker rooms and barber shops and the men of my 70' childhood. Somewhere along the line somerthing flipped and I got to like them - I find that these scents last all day, but don't project much more than the smell of really good soap. Unless you get really close, where you suddenly smell the dirty spicy floral undercurrent.

I don't know what the hell happened. I mailed all my TFs to you, but I got the box returned to me straightaway. Here's what it said: "Return to Sender. Reason: Insufficient Regard for Science." I will try again tomorrow.

That sounds really interesting. I haven't been wearing that kind of scent lately, but I'm nonetheless very tempted. I think I mentioned this before, but I have memories from my childhood (late seventies, early eighties) of the box. I have no idea why that's in my memory. I've been on a purchasing spree lately, so I probably shouldn't pull the trigger. (That is not to say I won't, of course. YOLO and whatnot.)

Switched into Bois Rouge for the evening time. Guess I'm just in a TF mood today. Really like this one, though I like Japon Noir a little better. They're similar.
