Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 886

Pre-shower: Midnight in Paris edp. I have an odd relationship with this one. I find it very delicate and beautiful, and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. And yet for whatever reason, I don't really love it. (FWIW, I prefer it to Bulgari Black, to which it is quite similar.)

SOTD: Byredo Baudelaire. If I were to make a list of underappreciated fragrances, this would certainly be on it. (Off the top of my head, Rocabar, Baie de Genievre, and Moss Breches would also be on the list.)

If you like light, try The Different Company OSmanthus. It's also light, but complex, lovely, and unique without being too fleeting or "meh." I'd take it over Embruns every day of the week.

Complex and Lovely... I am in. I will skip the Montale this time around smile.gif
Thanks for the pointer. This board & scent thread is amazing !

Easier to find would e something like Habit Rouge or John Varvatos (original, black-bottle)
Also consider: Prada Amber Intense. That's a good one to try and shouldn't be too hard to locate.

Good recs, T. Hipster, it seems like the ones you have are mostly warmer weather, so definitely good to find some for winter. I might also recommend the original Michael Kors man or the original Gucci Pour Hoomme (by Tom Ford.) Comme des Garcons Incense series also seems to be a hit with many.

Today was nasty and with mist/rain: Chanel Sycomore was perfect for my mood. I haven't worn this in a while and after my research on vetivers it is far and away above any other vetiver. Just beautiful and a must-have for those who love warm, smoky, woodsy fragrances.

I'm for sure in on the next split; I only had a chance briefly to sample Sycomore but I understood quickly the appeal.
That OR I could trade some from my collection of spiffy extraits if anybody has the big 300ml jobby and wants to share 30-50ml or so. wink.gif

XerJoff Zafar for the day. Coincidentally, my order from AgarAura arrived today too. So I applied some Royal Kampuchera. Seems very good so far.

The thing with Serge Lutens is that he doesn't want samples to be sold. At least that's what Essenza-Nobile told me (and then they sent me free samples -- funny enough, they weren't industry samples).
You'll have a hard time finding European shops that sell samples from non-niche houses. So for Chanel, Knize, Guerlain etc. you should consult a US-based shop like Surrender to Chance, The Perfumed Court or Luckyscent.
Nonetheless, you can always have a look at AusLiebeZumDuft and Essenza-Nobile. They're often cheaper than the US-counterpart.

There is a rumor circulating on the Internet that I have switched into Leonard de Leonard for the evening. I am now in a position to confirm that the rumor is true.

I've also seen rumors floating around certain corners of the Internet (as well as in some self-published "zines") that you've switched into Womanity for the evening, HORNS. Is it true?
