Have you tried AbdesSalam Attar Sharif?

For me today: Chanel - Bois des Iles parfum, Cuir de Russie parfum and Prada No. 3 parfum.

I haven't tried Sharif. Is it worth a go?

Yes, definitely. Have you tried Serge Lutens' MKK? It's a little similar.

man, this one i bought about 8 years ago and it's one of my strongest scent that gets better as the the day goes on and it lasts all day.  really happy i kept this small little bottle.  i use it sparingly.

Welcome. I have fond memories of Scent Intense; had a bottle or two way back when. You are right that it lasts forever! I found it much better for evening wear than day wear (felt a little too "dark" to wear in daylight hours), but a lot of fun. If you like it, you may also want to try Ungaro III.

Today: A heavy swipe of Mitsouko across my wrists (my left one has the oakmoss left over from the Cuir Beluga to just add more to the Mitsouko).

Never tried the Beluga; for a Guerlain fan, I've never ventured beyond the classics. So, while I can go all day long about Jicky or Shalimar, I know nothing about Cuir, Double Vanille, etc. (most of the rest of that super pricey line in the rectangular bottles). If it ain't got a bee on it, I ain't tried it. wink.gif

Speaking of Mitsouko, anybody else want any pre-reform parfum before I leave Japan? PM me ASAP if so.

The talk about Noir Epices reminded me of fragrances I had so hoped to like, but was ultimately really disappointed by. For me, it's Domenico Caraceni 1913 that disappointed me the most. I had heard so many good things, and it features one of my favorite notes (rose), but it just doesn't do anything for me. I've never seen this comparison made, but it reminds me of Fleurs de Bulgarie, which strikes me as a better version. Both are very, very soapy roses.

Well, fudge, I just bought a 15 ml bottle of the parfum. How much is the one he's asking for?

Tonight I went to a birthday party at a barbeque joint, so I wore Le Labo Patchouli 24. I really like this smoky herbaceous scent - it's like a smouldering brush fire.

Depends on how much you want. Probably 7.5ml ~$55-60, 10ml for $70-75, 15 for $100-105, and 20ml for $130-135. That would include shipping and such.

If you've got a 15ml coming, you probably won't need more. 15ml of pure parfum should last you a long time. In any case, I've got a sales thread up of stuff I'm trying to sell for him before I leave; I think its against the rules to post links, but click on my profile and you can find it. There's a whole slew of random stuff in there...

I'll keep it active until maybe Wednesday.

SOTN (scent of the night)... Kiehl's Musk for a cool autumn evening.

I switched into Bois 1920 La Vaniglia for the evening. Haven't worn this in a while because it's really not a warm weather scent. But it is a great fall/winter scent.

Yesterday: Acqua di Parma (old stock) for daytime, Kiehl's Musk for evening.
Today: Caron Yatagan

I bought a bottle of Apres l'Ondee on ebay and it just came, wearing it for the first time. A very pretty floral. Lots of violets, it's nothing like anything else I wear but it seems perfectly appropriate for a man - it's floral like a stroll through a flower market, not like a perfume. Very bright and fresh, it doesn't smell particularly old fashioned either. Good projection and longevity so far, too.

I'm curious about the parfum now. It's impossible to find but I'm having a hard time picturing how such a bright fresh style of scent would be interpreted as an extrait.

thanks for the tip although i am done with buying perfumes.  i got so many and i don't wear the stuff that often since at work there are some people who are really sensitive to perfumes resulting in them getting migraines.

Jubilation XXV for the day. Still going kinda strong after 10 hours. Simply great.

For the evening, AbdesSalam Attar - Sharif.

Not sure whether most of my perfume aged extremely in the past week (unlikely), or my nose changed noticeably (more likely), but I get different notes than usual from fragrances I though I knew. Not always with a positive result (for example, I had this sharp/biting note in Bois des Iles parfum, Cuir de Russie parfum and MKK -- just for a timeframe though, luckily), but generally it's fascinating. It really is different for about a 5-7 days now.
