Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread - Page 871

lol, I've been at this about 4-5 years and have probably about 75-80 retail bottles, then 20-25 30ml decants, and 40-50 10ml decants, plus 75-100 random 'reference' samples (1.5ml-2.5ml), at a conservative guess...

It has, was my SoTD. Tryed dabbing rather than spraying today; I think i prefer it sprayed. More of a stink smile.gif

Chanel No. 5 for a travel day.

Last night: 34 Boulevard St. Germain. Has anyone else tried this one? I happen to love this one as well as many of the other classic Diptyques, but this one is unlike all the others with its complexity and dramatic development.

Yup, I agree completely. It seems like there's way too much going on in this one, and that it shouldn't possibly be able to work. But it does. I like it a lot.

+1. Its not bottle worthy but I'd like to get a decant some day.

oy geez. I have about 50 different full-bottle scents, plus a few dozen decants, plus samples which I don't know why I bother keeping since I have handfuls of stuff I've yet to sniff. For a time it hovered around 60 bottles, which averages to wearing each scent roughly 6 times a year, assuming an even distribution among scents (which never happens). That said, I once went 90 days of wearing something different every day, so that should say how long it takes me to put a dent in a given bottle - even the stuff I adore.

That makes sense, the bottles are 125 ml - but I'd heard from a German fellow that they sell 1 liter bottles of Knize Ten. One LITER.

It's tempting me, at a time when I need another scent like I need another hole in my ass.

Oh, today - an old bottle of Guerlain Vetiver. Probably 70's era. (White box with zig-zag lines)

Today: L'Artisan Al Aoud. I really like this one and have been vacillating on purchasing this for a while. It's high quality oud incense combined with a smell that is best described as a pastry with dried fruits that have been cooked and caramelized on the bottom surface.

I know a guy who likes samples, I bet he's willing to inherit the burden.

Memo - Manoa for the evening.

Luckyscent sells a 50 ml bottle. I really wish that there were commonly available 0.5 or 1 oz bottles priced to reflect that sizing, but I suppose that doesn't work with the business model. Though I'd surely spend a lot more money if there were.

Which puts a new spin on my stinky running shorts. It's probably time to retire a few pairs.

Years back I'd read where some niche brands were experimenting with that size - notably Tauer and Le Labo - but acceptance has been slow going probably because the $/ml ratio is kind of harsh.
