Today: Geranium Pour Monsieur

Today: Antaeus. Sometimes it seems overbearing, mostly it's just right.

How do you like it? I was really expecting to enjoy it based on the reviews I'd read, but it left me cold. I was expecting something with a more pronounced chypre vibe than it turned out to have. Also, it lasted about two minutes on my skin. It's definitely one of my least favorite fragrances from the Exclusifs line (along with Gardenia).

Friday says to me : L'Artisan - Eau de Navigateur

Today - CDG2Man

More a case of 'in-a-hurry-and-need-to-wear-something' than a soberly considered decision.

Pre-shower: Philosykos. I think I've finally concluded that I enjoy this more than Premier Figuier. That was a hard conclusion to reach because Premier Figuier was one of my first favorites when I was just getting into fragrances. But Philosykos is creamier and less green, which I prefer.

SOTD: Anne Pliska. This is a comfort scent for me. I've been buried under work lately, so it seemed appropriate.

I screwed up when I said I wanted this one in extrait form. 31 is very well crafted but ends up smelling pretty conventional hours later. This morning I have my house sweater on and it still has Bois des Iles lingering from weeks and weeks ago and the hint of it makes me so happy in a warm, content way - so if a perfume does that to me then I have a benchmark. smile.gif

Today: Geranium Pour Monsieur - man, I'm really liking this. It's something that is unconventionally fresh and one that I can wear with heavy application without feeling subconscious about it.

L'Inc and RedLantern, I was *this close* to purchasing a big-ass bottle of Odeur 71 this week but backed off because it is so much stuff that it's almost a waste. I also tried smelling the Odeur 53 but I am completely and totally anosmic to it - I smelled only the alcohol base and then nothing.

When you buy a bottle, do you do it with the expectation that you'll eventually finish it? Or do you just want to make sure it's always available if you happen to want to wear it? Or some other reason? I'm more like the second case. For example, I doubt I'll finish the bottle of Al Oudh I recently bought, but I like that I have enough that I don't need to worry about restocking it in the foreseeable future.
