My secret supplier comes through yet again, though honestly were this anything more than $1, and were the weather here in japan anything less than extremely hot and humid... I'd probably have passed. In this heat/humidity, a sweet fruity floral acquatic is about all one can manage. I nearly killed an old woman with my Ungaro II this morning (poor thing).

Is this the new one Rach? The Creed counter token middle aged woman informed me that it had just been rereleased 2 weeks ago and that they had just gotten it in.

AFAIK, Acqua Fiorentina was released back in 2009 or so. So, does that mean it was discontinued and re-released within two years? I have no idea, but I trust anything that comes from Creed or its employees about as far as I can throw it.

David Bowie once, maybe, happened to be walking past a creed counter, got sprayed with Silver Mountain Water as his security guards whisked him away... and VOILA... on the creed site it tell us "Bowie wears SMW!"

Anyway, it's definitely the scent you're talking about... a fruity/green apple aquatic. It's "pleasant" as most creed are, but $260 pleasant makes me meeeeh. I just wish to reiterate (brag) that I paid $1 for mine.

Just got some Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille & Noir de Noir.

 

Probably going to rock one of those tonight.  I got the big bottles, so I better like them lol

I hope they weren't. There is no better way to feel awful than to open that $150+ bottle of juice absolutely to hate it. I've certainly done my fair share of blind-buying, but luckily it was always at very drastic discount. At TF's prices, I'd better be sure I absolutely love it first.

It all depends on the budget I guess. At least these are two solid scents -- just not up to everyone's alley (esp. Tobacco Vanille).

Strange, there hasn't been any of the Tom Ford Private Collection that I've really liked. I take that back - I liked the Bois Marocain.

IMO, many of the best Private Blends are the ones that are discontinued. Moss Breches and Purple Patchouli are both fantastic. I also like Japon Noir quite a lot. And anyone who's a real lover of gardenia has to try Velvet Gardenia! (I am not a real lover of gardenia, but I certainly respect TF for putting that on the market.) I'm a big fan of Noir de Noir as well, although that's obviously not discontinued.
