Today Voyage d'Hermes
Tonight Yosh Sombre Negra - a tobacco lover's scent if there ever was one.

SotD: FM - lPdT

Chanel sent me some samples. Antaeus, Égoiste and Allure. Hermès, Dior and Guerlain refer to local department stores. I hate asking for samples though, the salespersons around here are mostly very pretentious.
My Surrender to Chance order(s) have been shipped in the last couple of days. Really hope they arrive soon and the duty won't tax it. Can't wait to try them all, although it will take quite a few weeks. laugh.gif

Chanel - Égoiste. Quite sweet. Some rose. Some woods. Some fruit. Decent projection and lasting power. Good one.

Do you guys have any favorite citrusy hot weather fragrances? I'm looking for something on the greener end of the spectrum, not sure where to start.

SotD: Chanel - Allure (pour femme). Very tuberose-y scent, imo, even though it's not listed in the notes and none of the reviews mentions it. It's pretty similar to Carnal Flower -- at least until the late dry down where, IIRC, Carnal Flower isn't as sweet -- and given that Carnal Flower has very much tuberose, I smell the same in Allure.
I think Carnal Flower is a little superior -- it's rougher, definitely more niche-like. But I do like Allure p.f., too. Doesn't deserve the "hate" it gets at BN.
Lasts good. Not too big of a journey throughout the scent; it's pretty straightforward. Also not completely female by definition.

Interesting that you would say Terre d'Hermes for a spring scent. Of course it's not wrong but I just wouldn't consider it for myself - it all depends on what switches the scent flips for the individual.

Roger & Gallet Bois d'Orange has a fresh orange plus petitgrain, which is the green stems of an orange tree. This might be a fresh, but remarkably inexpensive for its quality, cologne for you to investigate.
