Picked up a pair of harris shoes today - Page 2

I picked up a pair of Harris shoes today, at Marshalls. They were on clearance for $50, down from their $150 original "Marshalls" price. They are a slip-on loafer style, very elegant, with a pointed toe. The color is cordovan. They had perhaps 15 pairs, in sizes 9.5 to 11.5. This Marshalls was about 50 minutes from my house, but if anyone knows if they are worth selling on ebay, I would go back and buy them all.

Hi, those are really nice shoes. One of our other Hong Kong lurkers in this forum was in Tokyo over X'mas, and saw a large selection of really cool C.Harris shoes. They were, unfortunately, all at full retail price, so he didn't get any.  I think you can't really compare Italian shoes to English shoes in terms of quality, because the leathers and constructions are so different and the fashion mindset is so ideologically different. But I would say that the quality of C.Harris Fatte a Mano are only slightly below that of Santoni Fatte a Mano. At least in terms of full retail price, they are similar. BTW, I love the pointy style of the toe box and the narrow waist, high vamp of the C.Harris loafers I got from A.Harris last month. We must have the same pair now?

It is an event, not a location.  They hold a twice-yearly clearance sale in a Manhattan location, usually in the Chelsea area. dan

Great shoes, but the soles on Harris always seem a bit over the top. Still, I wouldn't be a bit above owning a pair...

The Harris loafers were selling around $100 on eBay. You should have no trouble selling them at that price on eBay.

Did you mean Barney's sale, or Barney's Warehouse Sale? I thought the Warehouse Sale started in Feb?.?. The some of the Harris shoes I saw at Barney's last week were rapid-Blake stitched, which leads me to believe that all of them are. The picture of the sole highlights some of the differences of the shoes at Barneys and Marshalls. Note the brass tacks and that the 'H' is printed, not etched in. The Marshalls shoes don't have tacks and the 'H' is etched into the sole. Can someone please confirm?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....81&rd=1 These are the exact same shoes as the ones I purchased at Marshalls. Renault: My shoes do have tacks on the heels, and the H seems to be stamped into the sole.

VersaceMan, those are the ones I bought from A. Harris. If you got them for 50 bucks......what a steal.

Thanks to this forum, I bought a pair of Harris shoes yesterday at Marshalls. I paid the full $150; I guess in my area people appreciate the quality and are buying at that full price. Anyway, they are chestnut brown oxfords. The leather is soft and the quality seems excellent. This forum has paid dividends for me. I had not been to Marshalls in years and would not have gone if I had not read here about the availability of the Harris shoes there.

Great purchase. The leather on Harris shoes seems to be great, from the pair I own. I'm glad that you were able to pick up the shoes at such a good price. I would have really loved a pair of lace-ups rather than the loafer style, but for $55 I'm not complaining at all.

WOW... I forgot all about this thread LOL... $50 is an incredible deal. Just thought I would add an update, I have worn those shoes 4 times and they are no where near broken in but still very comfortable...

Is there a Marshall's in NYC that carries them?

Or Boston?
