+1. Read their wine blog. They take a different, and absolutely outstanding approach to wine pairings.

For restaurants like this, to me, the dining experience is the main event for the entire evening. I wouldn't think of rushing through a meal like this to get to another event. The meal is the event.

It really is awesome. A lot more whites than many other menus. I think in the 10 or so meals I've had there, I've maybe not liked two or three wines. Two of them were port/desert wine.

Americans don't drink enough white wine. Good for Alinea.

thanks for the info, sounds like it would be worth it to go for the full expierence. also, what percent tip is normal at a place like this? i have never been to a place near this caliber before, (capital grille is probably the most expensive place i have ever been) and would hate to not leave what is expected.

also, how far in advance will i need to make reservations? i will be going on a week night sometime in june.

Now. Seriously, I wouldn't wait much longer.
