Why not do this makeup in calico grey roughout instead? brown is boring

20. MINI RIPPLE SOLE BOOT
Model: Service boot
Last: 2040
Leather: grey roughout
Leather (tongue): smooth side
Eyelets: 7 eyelet, brass
Sole: Mini ripple sole
MISC: Pull Tab
Comments: partially structured
Well we all know the brown is safer and more versatile. But now that you bring it up, calico grey roughout might work really well for this as well. Anyone wanna try to photoshop it to grey? It would make it unique to SF instead of being a copycat of Johan's boot.

I think it would look great for sure. If you're after a safe and versatile brown boot, Viberg is going to put something out there sooner or later for you. Since this is a SF GMTO I think we should do something cool!

Brown may be boring to some but that combo is far from it IMO.

I have a grey calico roughout chukka and while it looks great, I dont get much wear out of it as much as I like. It is not the easiest to pair up for me.

I have tons of grey, but for this makeup, something in the light brown spectrum makes more sense.

My vote goes to 8 (with a bourque cap toe) and 4/9 (with bourque cap toe):

Look at all that olive goodness (assuming Viberg could source something similar)

I prefer Oxford or Derby and there's only one such make-up, #23. Tan Horsehide is nice & maybe, Midnight Kudu or Chicgo Tan Latigo could be considered.

I'm not sure if the Commando sole works though.

How so?

I would love an olive chromepak boot but I'm pretty sure they don't have the leather. However, I know Nick's recently got a supply for a Reddit GMTO, so it's still being produced.

I think instead of what we're currently doing now, we should have Guy go through our list of makeups and cross off the ones that can't be done right now instead of limiting us to two pre-purchase votes on stuff that might be non-starters.

Man I love the natural cxl make ups but they would need brogue cap toes for me so I'm out on those.

If I wore black, I'd be in on those **** kickers but unfortunately I don't haha. They are nice though.

Only boot I'm down for is #20. Can anyone give me sizing advice for the 2040 last? I've tried looking for comparisons to OSB trench boots but haven't had much luck. I wear 6.5 in trench boots but toe box is a little snug for my wide feet. I'm a 6.5E on the brannock (heel to toe) & 7E (heel to ball, got short stubby toes!). I'm also around a 6 3E for rancourt and AE if that helps. Thanks!

Hey Dino I think we could work thru an oxford proposal. The midnight Kudo and chicago tan latigo may work as well. Maybe even the Navy Latigo? I was looking for a fairly comfortable shoes so i added the foam and leather foot bed and commando. Maybe utilize the black ripple sole on it instead of the commando. Not sure what other soles are forgiving. I know leather and Dainite will not work for me. thanks

I'd be down for 4 or 8 if they were structured toes. Also I don't know if they have olive chromepak. I emailed Guy about the leather about a month ago and he said they had no plans on using it but had other chromepaks they had plans for in the upcoming year. Don't know if that means if they have it in stock or not.
