how durable is the mini-ripple sole, relative to eg dainite ?

#16 mini-ripple
It really depends on the terrain. I own boots in both, and find the ripple lasts longer. I think that this is because there is much more "give" on the gumlite soles, which means a bit less abrasion. This despite the fact that the gumlite is a lot blown rubber sole, while the dainite is a heavier, more dense, sole.

This for me! And I'd commit to buying 2 pairs!!!

2. Black Service Boot
Model: Service boot
Last: 110
Leather: Durable Smooth black leather (non-CXL). Probably need Guy's opinion on what would be good and what they have available.
Leather (tongue): Same as above.
Eyelets: 7 (six if possible) antique brass
Sole: Commando, natural midsole.
Comments: Partially structured, plain toe, pull tab.
Spare pair? Works for me. I have done this with clothes and sneakers. Never boots though, at least, not yet.

Absolutely! Chances of seeing a boot like this again will be rare! I could always use a spare! If I love something, I usually buy doubles anyway because when you go to buy it again, invariably it's discontinued.

I personally think that 20 would make for a pretty brilliant boot.

So, the way I always think of these things is:  Is it something that I never knew could be done until just now, and did it blow my mind and make me wish I'd though of the idea first.   In this case, it is.  To me, that's what makes a winner.

The mini-ripple sole sitting under the stacked midsole with that color of roughout, just looks spectacular.  It's similar to the tan bison that I had in my mind, but with the roughout and the white mini-ripple, is even better.

Agree with everything said here. Can you remind me about 2040. Is that the last that is similar to 2030 with a more rounded toebox?

I have two pairs of identical work boots. Albeit not $750 each, I alternate the pairs everyday to distribute the wear and tear and also allow my shoe trees 24 hours to absorb the sweat after each day. They are two years old now and still have plenty of life left in them.

This is my plan! I won't be upset if anyone wants to copy us and do the exact same thing with #2 on your voting register! Extend the life of your boots...buy 2 pairs!!!

Looks like they have conflicting information then. My 2040s feel wider than the 2045 and 2030 I have tried on in the same size.

If it's wider than 2045 than I'm out. However the toebox does not look at wide

You know, go ahead and mark me down for a #4 (or #9, they're the same), but it really should have a partially structured toe. This is a mighty fine, understated boot.

And if those bastards above me are going all in, then I might as well throw my hat in the ring for 2 orders of the #17 in two different sizes. I could see one as a gift for my brother, and one as my prize...
