I thought about sizing down from 11.5 D US>10.5 Viberg 1035 to 10 Viberg 110. I might have gotten away with it but didn't want to risk the 3 110's being too snug.

Fingers crossed.

110s are not snug. They are EEE.

I never said they were snug...... 2030's, they look/are snug. Maybe that's why they don't appeal to me. They look like a dress shoe width/fit.

Anyhow, I've seen side by side pics of Raneleighs 110 and 1035 boots and they look to be the same width. Maybe they are a hair different...I'll find out in a few months. But even with my slightly narrow D feet, the 1035 width is good and fits well. It appears that the 110 might have a little extra pinky toe room due to the "rounder" symmetry there compared to the 1035.

Before I ordered the 110's on the just ended GMTO, I emailed Guy asking for sizing advice. I asked if he still felt folks should size down for the 110...Here's his reply:

" I’d actually revise that statement slightly now.  Specifically i’d say that most people should be wearing the same size across all of our lasts.  If the length feels good in a 10.5 1035, then my advice would be to stick with that in both the 110 and 2030.  If you think the 10.5 is a touch long, then a 10 would probably be safe as well.  I actually own boots in both 10.5 and 11 across a few different lasts and they are all comfortable for me."

So I did what he said and stuck with my 1035 size, which fits "snuggly" or comfortably on the width(reverse kudus) but has slightly less than a thumbs width room(about 1.8 cm) at the big toe. I don't know if that qualifies as "a touch long" or is the preferred amount of free toe room as that is my first pair of Vibergs.  I might have been able to size down .5 on the 110 but didn't want to risk not being able to wear thick socks.

I would imagine that the 10.5s will work.  I haven't heard of many (if any) folks going down 1.5 from Brannock..

Thanks linafelt.

Everyone who's opinion I asked said stay with the 10.5's.

I've got 3 110's coming so I hope they are right. I reckon it's better to have a little extra room at the toe than be snug.

July/Aug can't come soon enough.

Fok,

Any update/news on the ECHO research/configuration. It's pretty boss how seriously you and Synthese are taking it's construction.

Thanks

I agree with what others have said...you should be fine with 8.5 in the 110 if that works for you in the 1035.  I'm the same size in both 110 and 1035.  But I found that the 2030 pinched a bit in that size, so I would have to go a half size up on that last, same as you.

This can be addressed more in the near future, but generally speaking it's a project we're both interested in. This coming summer should see some discussion of design and material choices that will ideally lead us to the boot we have in mind. So no! We haven't forgotten, we just want to get it right. I'll let @LA Guy chime in with news as it comes.

I'm trying to place a pre-order/vote before the deadline but the link shows nothing. New here and appreciate some help figuring this out.

It's closed, and we have been waiting forever.

Frank did email me last week saying that nearly ALL of the boots are done, including the waxed flesh ones, and that hopefully they would be shipping out... end of last week, but that means that they are imminent.  I'm going to ping them again.

Sorry for all the snafus this round.  I dunno.  Pretty much everything that could have happened, did, after many rounds of nearly zero issues.

Thanks. The issue was really that I was looking at the Viberg GMTO post from 2014 ending in October. It was the first result that showed up when I did a search for Viberg GMTO so I didn't bother to check the year.

@LA Guy you have any estimate on when the next round would be?

We will probably do one last round towards the end of the year, hopefully for spring delivery.

Cheers,

Fok.

Hey Fok.  Thanks again for the estimation. Hopefully things go easy and I don't miss it. Looking forward to it :)

Need some advice on sizing a Viberg 2030 boot.  I measure a US9.5D on the Brannock device but have a high instep and meaty forefoot so this size doesn't always work well for me.  My foot fits perfect in the US9.5E Alden Trubalance & Alden Barrie lasts.  I could go up to a US10D in both of these Alden lasts but the shoe is a little to long IMO and the ball of my foot sits back a little from the widest point in this length.  What size Viberg 2030 Service Boot should I get?  Do they offer the boots in various widths?
