Tomorrow I will be taste testing a flurry with cookies in it for Wendy's. My expert analysis will hopefully yield enough scratch to pay T-Mobile they money.

I once wrote a 8 or 9 page research paper for a friend. I knew nothing about the topic. Made $160 or something.

I once worked for this woman who was tied up in all sorts of illegal things writing papers (often for advanced degrees), speeches (a couple of which were for CEOs of fairly major companies), and other odds and ends (among them the special feature scripts, etc. for very well known movie DVD releases). She'd call me at weird hours and give me ridiculous deadlines and be a huge twat about things. I quit and stuck her with some huge assignment.

Bonus factoid: she apparently used to date some dude from Cannibal Corpse.

Does farm work like picking tomatos, hoe'ing beans, detassling corn, etc. count as ridiculous?

If this is illegal, I am screwed.

In the "near misses" category, I was at this job I had no intention of keeping and left for my lunch break to go walk around. At the time I was broke/bored as hell, wandered to the hotel across the street and started poking around for my own amusement. I noticed a room service guy going in and out of rooms, and his service cart kept filling up with unopened prepackaged food. I followed him for a few floors, pretending to fiddle with ice machines or Coke vending machines or whatever was at hand, all the while creeping the food when he would go into rooms. Once I'd had my fill, I found roof access to the building and looked around for a bit. From there, I went up the street to the mostly-abandoned urban shopping mall. This was once a nice place, full of key flagship stores and brimming with customers, but now most of the storefronts are either vacant or contain businesses that are either sketchy as hell (get your airbrushed "TRAP OR DIE" T-shirt here!) or look like sets from California Dreams or something. The place was nearly deserted. As I was walking around taking in the decay, a tall businessman on some sort of amphetamines and his squat, overeager friend approached me. "YOU." Me? "YOU'RE THAT GUY. I'VE SEEN YOU AROUND." Pretty sure that I was not that guy, and that he had not seen me around, I began to make my exit. It was at this point that I was offered $150 to **** this guy's wife, presumably while he watched. I politely declined and made my way up the street to fall asleep in the abandoned church adjacent the hotel.

It's questionably ethical, not illegal. Some other things she was involved with were illegal (and occasionally super illegal!), and the way that I was being paid was but one. I don't think she ever gave me her real name, though through a bit of online sleuthing I think I found her information once. She still owes me about $500, which will never be recouped.

Is it illegal to write papers for people who are pursuing professional degrees?

I did the same for my sister, except it was a business case analysis. I charged her $200 and it was 10 pages.
