And the best way to do this is by getting a tattoo so horrible that it shatters all previous conventions of taste.

Yep.

at the end of the day, a nice tattoo that doesn't mean shit will still look nice, and a meaningful tattoo that looks like shit will still look like shit.

Some guy on SuFu got a tattoo of PinkPantser's avatar (Explosions in the Sky album cover) as well as cover art off of several other albums from various bands. A very tacky tribute IMO, but I don't even really care for band posters on people's walls, much less their skin.

My tattoo is a total fashion statement.

If you think otherwise you're an idiot.

More power to you. Who's the betty in your avatar?

I have a tattoo across my left wrist that I'm dying to cover with another tattoo. I'd like it to be something a little more creative or meaningful than a simple 1" wide black band. I've thought the band could become a different design on the inside of my wrist, but I'm at a loss. The only other tattoo I'd consider is an anchor, which historically designates that one has sailed (across) the Atlantic. Anyone ever see pics of the guy who had his penis and balls tattooed as a dragon? Now that's hardcore! And what's the deal with all of the nautical star tattoos/car stickers I see these days??

Seems like a poor choice to do a piece with a black background if your skin is white. Even worse is the inconsistent horizontal bands, which in the original look like a product of woodblock printing.

+1, and I can't even tell what's going on in the Sunn O))) piece. Cool Triforce, though!

I always thought that "minimum insertion" with the accompanying dashes (or line) would be a great penis tattoo... cyclists in the crowd that will get that one...
