I'm not sure Hemingway is the one to take manly drink cues from. I believe Hemingway dressed his son up as a girl while he was growing up. Pink Panties is the girliest drink I've seen--pink lemonade with vodka--or as my friend calls it, God.

Actually, it was Hemingway's mother who dressed him up as a girl when he was little -- maybe that explains some of the over-the-top macho bullshit he spent the rest of his life associating with, including getting the crap kicked out of him by his Canadian buddy, Morley Callaghan.
