i need something to hold my sunglasses/glasses case, ipod, etc. i was thinking of a messenger bag, but those are too big for just walking around, going to friends house, etc. i saw a guy with a "small" duffle bag, but that still has the same problem of bulkyness. i was browsing american apparel and saw the "Nylon Cordura Fanny Pack" and thought i could use it as a "mini messenger." of course i would never wear it around my waist. what do you guys think? any other ideas?

http://store.americanapparel.net/rsanc500.html#i

background info: 19 y/o college student, located in so-cal. my style is probably most close to flsxik and jpgm.

thanks

There are those little "sport backpacks. You know, the ones with the little drawstrings and usually nylon. People wear them to the gym and stuff. Wouldn't work for carrying heavy stuff like books, but would work well for carrying phone, keys, sunglasses and an extra tshirt or something like that. It's an alternative to wearing a fanny pack and i see college students wearing them all the time so it wouldn't be weird or anything.

I normally just put my **** in my girlfriend's purse though.

I tried looking on the sports authority website for those little backpack things but i can't find it and can't for the life of me think what they're called. They're just that cheap little nylon bag with the drawstrings though. You can probably find it at any sport store. I've also seen tiny messanger bags for cheap too. Check your local army surplus store. There is a nice tiny messanger bag that's made for a canteen or medical pack or something like that. http://www.militaryclothing.com/IBS/...id/631928.html feel free to browse that site as well Buying my girlfriend a bigger purse last christmas was the best idea i ever had. And she thought that the present was just for her....

those military bags look nice, but would that be fishing in "murse" territory? i have a drawstring bag already, i'll just use that till i can find something.
btw for clarification, i meant to wear it over the neck on the shoulder

Woah! I want a fanny pack too! Throw out as many brands or as many styles as possible! That'd probably help me and the thread maker!

EDIT: And the sling bags. Go to footlocker. They got Jordan ones, Nike, Timberland and a lot of other brands.

They wouldn't look "murse" at all assuming that's a male nurse thing. It's a messanger bag...but smaller. If you're comfortable wearing a messanger bag, and considered wearing a fanny pack, i don't know why you'd have a problem wearing a messanger bag that's just a bit smaller.

I saw this one japanese guy in Siena who was rocking an awesome fanny pack-pouch thing, made out of a kind of dark beige corduroy, maybe even a suede. It looked pretty badass. No picture, but don't think that wearing a fannypack around your waist automatically makes you a dork.

Fannypacks are badass don't let anyone tell you otherwise. AA just likes to take badass things and turn them into some form of ironic statement. I swear they're turning into cheapo Cassette Playa. Also I don't know what "murse" is, but I'm pretty sure that military surplus bags are way too murse.

I don't know if I could ever wear a fanny pack as a regular item... I wear enough of it at work (Part of lifeguard uniform) I just have it on my hip..but to wear it beyond work...
