Does he have any decent 7.62 x 39 in either metal or polymer? Polymer preferred...

I will ask but I doubt it.

I found some East German 30rd AK mags for low $30.00's. From what I've read, they are supposed to be some of the better surplus mags out there.

The polymer frame Sigs are not my favorite.  I suggest staying with something like the 228/229.

Do not buy any Sig made after 2000.

On this topic, the Ruger Mark III is fucking terrible. Buy the Mark II or a browning.

My Sig wasbuilt in 2002.  I've used and abused it without any problems.

I have a MKII stainless target. It's one of the guns I have that's not likely to end up getting sold or traded off.

I like my mark 3. What do you have against it?

I have Sigs with build dates in '06 (P239) and '07 (P229) and neither have been a problem. The P239 isn't fired very often and has more wear on the frame rails than I would like. I might end up getting it refinished, but it is sound mechanically.

Then you will look at one made in the 80s or 90s, compare fit and finish with yours, and then you will cry.

My 226 is from the early 80s, it's like a Swiss watch. My 239 feels and looks like a Ruger. Recently I got a .22 conversion kit for the 226. Not only is it again to put on because the tolerances are off, but it's total crap. No slide hold open on last shot, plastic guide rod, etc.

My 229 is as nice as the 226 I shot in the 90s. The only complaint I have is that I'd prefer a tool steel trigger and hammer to MIM parts. That's an aesthetic issue and not a functional one.

I don't have the .22 conversion, but I thought those always sucked, i.e., before Cohen came in?

The "loaded chamber indicator" and the magazine disconnect just add moving parts and don't make the firearm any safer, in my opinion. Frankly, you should always treat a firearm as loaded.
