So you change party affiliation, I won't hold it against you.

I prefer my unaffiliated status. Also, I don't think politics is something I'd want to make my career. Although instead of the "Free Ice Cream and Pony" party, I'd totally be "Free Handguns and Bullets" party to stay in theme with this thread.

Since there isn't a dedicated knife thread, other than the random ones started here and there, I figured I'd ask what you guys favor as an everyday carry blade, or blade to keep in your car or around the house. I just ordered the Delica 4 in ZDP steel. Heard good things about it.

not a bad choice. I have something similar from Boker , with a 2 inch blade.

Not familiar with that brand, I'm assuming it's more esoteric than Sypderco. I haven't paid much attention to knives since I was a kid.

I carried a Cold Steel Gunsite Voyager for many, many years until I lost it.  I switched to a SigTac folding knife (it was on clearance at their pro shop).  The SigTac blade is not as aggressive but i will still cut through a seat belt without much trouble.

Boker is solid.  My associates swear by Benchmade knives.

The nice Bokers are made in Germany and are really nice. The cheap Bokers are made in China and Taiwan (and maybe other places as well) and are not as nice. I have a couple of Taiwan-made folders and they don't open smoothly. Worse, the locking mechanisms are very secure. I have a couple of Boker Subcoms that I got really cheap and keep in my pocket as an EDC cutting tool that can be dumped without sentiment if I forget to declaw myself when going someplace where I have to pass through security.

My go-to folding knives for srs bzness are an Emerson CQC7 and a Spyderco Yojimbo. I used to carry a lot of Benchmades but my current knives are in good shape and I'm not so in love with their current lineup that I'd drop the cash to get one. I may get one of the Hogue G10 handled knives since they use the same material as the grips on my Sig, which I like a lot.

Here is one that my GF's dad made me for Xmas from scratch.

Your GF's father is awesome.

I was very impressed when I received it.  Can't believe he was able to make something like that because it looks so perfectly done.  The handle you can tell is hand made, but the blade looks like something you would get on a mass produced knife.  I'm not so handy, but he said he forged it, ground it, welded it to that brass hasp thing (or whatever its called), must have polished.buffed it ect.

The blade is 8".  That is a piece of computer paper, not a file card.

I think it's a "Buck Knife"  for gutting a deer.

I'm impressed right now

Start a thread for this, but I have a Kershaw I carry everyday. Have to leave in the car a lot of time when I go to court, but really nice.

^ pic won't show here at work, but have heard good things about that brand as well.

What's that brand that has some ridiculous waiting list of several years? It's a small operation, unknown to most people.
