Unfortunately a leather craftsman named R.F. Clark is no longer making his briefcases, he ran an online shop called the leather foundry, and R.F. Clark Sadderly. I missed him by a few months, if that, from the beginning of his retirement. What's the next best thing, who is the next closest individual craftsman?

Most briefcases made and used today are awful if not ghastly. I've scoured reams of the internet and ended up asking here for knowledge of the next closest artisan. I'm looking for pieces like Ortus, Trudell, RF Clark of course, William and Son, SAB (etc. - papworth, peal and co, etc), Simon Baker. Triple gusseted, english bridle leather, brass details, simple, in the English tradition. Thank you for your suggestions. Again, I'm looking for an individual artist as a general rule, because of customization, but I'm open to any suggestions as like the above. Thank you for them.

Clegg is bespoke, so I'm sure he can do a single gusset / one-piece model with ease.

Not listed on the website, but Lotuff does bespoke as well - http://lotuffleather.com/
Again, not a one piece gusset, same leather on all of it, not what I'm looking for, no lock, not sure if they do bespoke but it doesn't matter. I've seen Lotuff too, which I like more, but it's the same.

Not sure exactly what you want in the design besides having a single gusset. If you do change your mind and would like to work with us please send us an email. My father can make a bespoke piece for you . -IC
