I sell you something for $149 with the understanding at time of purchase that you are getting a limited edition item of a run of only 250 units and that changes after you hand over your money. Explain to me again how this does not look bad? I'm sorry but the guy above is right. This does feel like a bait and switch.

People who go out of there way to buy limited editions of anything do because of exclusivity or collectability. If Linjer wanted to sell more "limited edition" watches they should have created a 2nd run of "limited edition" watches with new numbering.

Well, this "limited edition" flub was an unfortunate development.

Thankfully, I prefer mechanical watches wink.gif

FWIW, I didn't even pay attention to the "limited edition" part of the offer. I just thought it was a cool watch and I wanted one, so I backed it. What do you think is going to happen with it? It's going to increase in value like a real investment? Pay your $149, get what seems to be a decent watch, an wear the hell out of it. That's my plan anyway.

Same here. I am normally a mechanical watch person, but will get this to travel with.... in case i misplace my watch or leave it behind in the hotels. Won't cause a heartburn.

It is not just about the "limited edition" watch. It is about Linjer as a company, their brand, and what they advertise and what they actually deliver. After pulling a bait and switch move like this why should anyone ever trust anything they advertise about any of their products (Briefcases, Purses, Watches, etc)?

I get that, and your concerns aren't nothing. However, I doubt there was any intent to deceive and because of that it's hard for me to see this as a bait and switch in any way. Could things have been handled better? Yes. Are they trying to cheat you and steal your money? No.

I have no dog in this fight, but thought I would mention that 1) this is Linjer, so anything they produce is going to be "limited" editions. We arent talking Seiko here, so how many of these are they actually going to sell. 2) its a quartz watch. You probably arent going to pass this down to the grandkids.

I am one of the first 250 (even first 10). It's not really fair they have changed the amount of limited edition twice, but let's not make a big deal about it. I am still happy with their brand, and wish them the best of luck.

No dog in the race.

Maybe label the first run of limited editions watches "x"/250 and then the next batch "x+250"/650.

Linjer has shown themselves to be a stand up company with the SF so far. As an observer I've been impressed overall with their customer service and willingness to go the extra mile for our community.

Don't be condescending and tell me to chill; I will listen to your valid arguments. If they do have a good customer service and community outreach as you say then as much as we bring this issue up and "lay it thick" the more they will be upping their game and provide a better reward to the first 250 backers.

So what is the design you guys planning to get?

I like classic-gunmetal-tan, classic-gunmetal-navy and classic-silver-mocha.

I think the classic-gunmetal-navy is fantastic looking.
