High Calorie Snacks

Kind of on the opposite end of the spectrum from the other thread, but I find myself eating all day, but due to being too active I'm still losing weight. Need advice on foods that are high in calories and nutritional content. Sure there's the option to eat MORE, but that's not very comfortable and physical activity on a full stomach doesn't work well for me.

Protein Bars (16) ½ cup skim milk 1 Cup of Natural Peanut Butter or LowFat Peanut butter 1 tbsp Honey 1.25-1.5 cups of protein powder (vanilla or chocolate) 2 cups dry, uncooked oatmeal Directions: Combine peanut butter, honey, milk in pot, and warm it up over low heat . I start out with just the peanutbutter and honey, then add the protein powder, and finally the oats. You don't want to cook it, just heat it up enough to be able to stir it together. Add more milk if needed. Press into a 9" x 13" pan. Let them cool, and cut into 16 equal bars.(I cut them into 32 bars). Wrap each bar in foil or saran wrap and store in plastic baggies. No need to refrigerate, the ingredients are all natural.
Delicious and calorie dense.

Try trail mix, it's what it was basically invented for.

Fat is most calorie dense. Start eating things like tuna salad, nuts, etc to get healthy fats.

+1. It's easy to find high-calorie foods as anything loaded with fat (or sugar) qualifies--bacon, eggs, etc. Healthy fats are much harder to find and these are good suggestions (salmon will have more fat than tuna and it's healthy fat). Also, drink whole milk and eat yogurt. Peanut butter and honey sandwiches are basically calorie sandwiches, a banana will give you a quick 100 calories and a load of fiber (apples are much lower in calories), and dried fruit is basically a concentrated form of fructose so it's easy to eat a lot of it. If your activity is due to workouts, I recommend boosting your protein intake slightly so you'll gain muscle.

Most importantly, find a chart that tells you the calorie content of foods so you can monitor what you eat. Some cookbooks will have this (e.g. "The Joy of Cooking", IIRC).

Almonds and walnuts. Salmon jerky. Venison jerky. Fish oil supplements. Dump olive oil on everything. Avoid carbs because they'll fill you up and make you fat.

Nuts are extremely high in calories.

Yea, a cup of nuts is very filling. I think it has that good fat.
