Besides the cheesy, sentimental things, I'm hoping for a job offer this fall/early winter! It would really make the rest of my last year of school a lot more relaxing to have something locked in.

I just purchased an engagement ring (cross that off her wishlist), and I really am hoping a) I can make the proposal a suprise, and b) that wedding planning isn't as terrible as I'm think it will be...choosing what type of flowers to use isn't exactly my favorite thing to do. Thankfully, I already have a committment that I will be allowed to wear morning dress.

I've had my eyes open for a reasonably priced tuxedo that suits my requirements for awhile. Would love to pick one up before the Christmas season.

Finally, I'm crossing my fingers for an Omega Seamaster. I could use a sportier watch to compliment the dressier one that I wear everyday.

Life is good

Heh, I listed all the stuff I wanted and will likely never be able to afford. Realistically, now- -private pilot's operating certificate (license) -Rolex Submariner with black face (unlikely) -to just finish the g*ddamn firefighter training Among other things that I don't need to post here. That's about it for now. JB

I feel the same way about the K10D and vertical patterning noise, but didn't the M8 firmware update and IR filters pretty much take care of the IR sensitivity/magenta tone issue? Or are there other issues, as well? At least Leica acknowledged the problem and issued some quick remedies.

Oh, and to add to the "near future" list:

• Job offer from at least one of my two top choices of firm.
  

Soonish/planned:

-Navy jacket (I mean a kickass one, not the weak Polo/department store ones I have now)
-Tuxedo (I shredded the trousers on my old one climbing onto a roof to watch the sun rise)
-Brown Chukkas or Chelseas
-Laptop
-Warm pants of some kind, and sweaters

Mid-term/uncertain:

-gap year travel
-internship in NYC
-Admission to a decent grad school, probably somewhere up east (Columbia?)

Long term/hopes/dreams

-a good job that involves travel
-small house out in the boonies in Scotland, ideally with someplace to fish and do a little wingshooting
-a great wife
-medium size ranch in west Texas
-enough money to retire to running a bookstore or an antiquarian shop without having to pull my hair out about making a good profit

In a tuxedo?

I actually think Paris would be pretty fun to party with. I definitely would not want to go any further than that, however.
