It looks like the Earnest Sewns you just posted fit you well! My jeans also always look high waisted, even when worn really low (though I normally wear them only about 4" below navel), because of my long legs. But a slim top block that gives a "straight down" appearance at the hips makes all the difference in overall attractiveness. The 7s you posted seem pretty typical for the "slimmer" fits from popular mall brands: They're cut full at the top then taper a lot toward the knee. I doubt this produces a flattering look on many guys (maybe those with asses big enough to pull them back tight at the hips??). In any case, judging by your ESs, you already know what to look for in finding jeans that fit you.

Yeah, the ES are my favorite jeans. I've never been a big fan of raw jeans because they take so long to stretch, but I really like those Iron Hearts. Do you size down on them?

Hey Mayor,

Self Edge's website has measurements on the Iron Hearts that are quite accurate in my experience. As you'll see, IHs run small: the waist on my 30s was actually under 30" at first. My hips were sore for the first couple of days, but the jeans quickly stretched out to "perfect." Kiya at Self Edge recommends buying the 643S in the smallest size that you're able to button up all the way, if you want to eventually achieve a comfortable straight fit (they aren't a skinny cut by any means), and this seems about right to me.

Remember that most raw denim only stretches a ton if you try to wear it very tight. Also, consistently wearing a belt can help to prevent excessive waist stretching, if you're concerned about that.

Berlin, it looks like you suffer from a mild case of assless-ness. Much like myself. Yet you still look so damn good in those jeans. I just can't get my lack of ass to look right in jeans.

Uh, thanks, I guess. The long, saggy back rise of the Lee Recon Logger does have a tendency to give the impression of a flat backside. Lord knows why I wear it but I assure you I have a trim, nifty, ample behind despite it looking as flat a pancake in these jeans. Anyway, try the Lee 101Z. It has, in my experience, wonderbra-like qualities.
