I don't know how long you've been into this stuff, but Viridi/RO/Jensen etc are very hard to wear well. I don't think you have it.

BoboI love your stuff, as long as you never wear those new balance again you'll remain among my favorite posters.

Singular You are stupendous status. Never stop what you're doing, a style appropriate for ages 18-80 and yet it still looks fresh.

NewThunder As much as I try to (since the general consensus here seems to be support) I can't get behind your style. I'm sorry, I just don't like it. With the exception of the Rick Owens dress, I haven't seen you inhabit any particular outfit fully. You appear to neither make the pieces your own nor recreate any particular designers aesthetic or vision. I have said that with a few exceptions your outfits could all have looked almost the same for 1/10th of the money, and I still think that. Now there are tons of people here worthy of criticism, I'm bothered by you less because you're a girl and more because of your seemingly unneccesary expenditures.

Phat Guido It took me a little time to warm to you. You started with a lot of strikes against you (in my book, which carries absolutely no weight in any system anywhere), I'm generally against displays of wealth, business style, untucked shirts, etc.
But I like what you do. I'll never be ok with your casual outfits (shirttails... GRRRRR) but your suits are extremely well worn, and each piece complementing them works perfectly. You have the sort of style that takes a few viewings to even notice it, but as Loos would say, the point is not to stand out, but to fit into the element perfectly. You've achieved that, you have the whole picture, the whole package, and it looks good.

blah blah blah

i don't even see the point of ankle rolls, unless you're trying to look "tryhard" or you ride a bike. And idk why you'd ride a bike in those chukkas.

Skulls have an amusingly huge leg opening that looks like absolute **** if it's not cuffed up, additionally, you'd be surprised how much cooler it is with a little ventilation on your ankles, additionally, rolled jeans with boots is a classic american look.

Marrakesh, I'm a fan of the top half of most of your pics, but nearly all of your pants aren't doing it for me.

I love having a crewcut myself. I've gone as low as a #1 but right now I am on a #3 as well and it's been about a month.

the regular guy speaks again:

i like the rest of your outfit, hali...but, i think the pinroll looks pretty whack...and, it definitely violates the precept you quoted earlier...

"the point is not to stand out, but to fit into the element perfectly"

in the real world, the average guy who happened to catch a glimpse of your feet would ask, "wtf is that???"

and, while i respect the cogent analysis in your critiques, i have to disagree with you about nt...i think she owns her fits quite well...she seem to be very "at home" in them...or at least, that's my impression...but, the comment about her spending too much for her look...well...that criticism could be levied upon quite a few folks around here...in fact, it seems to be the norm

Yeah, I think NT wears her clothes quite well, even though the compositions do not seem noticeably representative of each individual 'designer.' And, my opinion is unbiased because I'm not swayed by her obvious 'curvaliciousness.' My only criticism is that I just wish she'd get some new bags. Her purses look like wood carvings, like she's carrying around pieces of a totem pole.

Am I missing something? If your outfit consists of a dress with shoes, and the dress fits well, and goes well with the shoes, in what other way could it "not work"?
