Nice fit and nice raccoons. Hard to say on the sleeves without seeing them all the way down your arms, but they should be about the same as any other jacket.

That wide-shouldered look was popular during the '50s as well, I believe, with padded shoulders in suits. Look at the old films where men wore suits--they were usually rather broad shouldered with a fairly suppressed waist. Even something like Perry Mason shows this:
